This thesis explores the potential for producing synthetic methane (SNG) using carbon dioxide captured from flue gases and hydrogen obtained via water electrolysis. The introduction summarizes various methods of methane production and presents different technologies for carbon dioxide separation. The main part of the thesis focuses on calculating the amount of methane produced in methanation reactors using the Sabatier reaction. The computational section includes a fuel analysis, the design of a basic thermal cycle for a heating plant, the carbon dioxide separation process, electrolysis, and the methanation process. At the end, the basic dimensions of the proposed equipment are presented, and critical points of the system are identified.
