This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the tribological properties of 3D printed CoCrMo composites reinforced with MXene nanomaterials, aimed at evaluating the potential for improving the lifespan of joint replacements. The goal is also to experimentally compare the behavior of these pins with conventional materials. Tribological tests were conducted using an Anton Paar TRB3 device in a pin-on-plate configuration, utilizing PBS lubricant and synovial fluid. The tests also included surface analysis before and after testing. The results showed that the samples with 1 % and 2 % nanomaterial exhibited more stable friction coefficients and lower wear, especially under higher loads. These findings highlight the promising potential of nanotechnology and 3D printing for advancing orthopedic implants.
