The aim of the thesis is to analyze the influence of Arab Spring on water security and policy of water use management in the Nile basin. The thesis focuses on water resources in Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan. The task is to examine attitudes towards cooperation throughout history. SWOT analysis summarizes strenghts and weaknesses of water resources. Water security was measured by the Falkenmark indicator which reports whether a country is experiencing water stress, scarcity or absolute water scarcity. Other indicators used to research the water security are the Water security index and Water poverty index. The results obtained from the theoretical and analytical part determines the possible scenario and suggests recommendations to reach a better security and policy of water use management in the Nile basin.
