This bachelor thesis provides a coherent view of security in civil commercial aviation and describes basic terms related to security, defines security in civil aviation. In thesis is also described the history of aviation and security and continuing development of unlawful acts committed on aviation security. The text also introduces legislation for aviation security in international and national level. One of the parts of my bachelor thesis defines terrorism and its particular types. Last part of this thesis includes own caculations, figures and tables and focuses on comparison of terrorist attacks between 1987 – 2001 and 2002 – 2016 in three different parts of the world, that is North, Central, South America and the Carribean, the Middle East and North Africa and Western and Eastern Europe. Tato bakalářská práce poskytuje ucelený pohled na bezpečnost v letecké obchodní dopravě a popisuje základní termíny spojené s bezpečností. V práci je také popsaná historie vývoje protizákonných činů na leteckou dopravu a legislativa pro letectví na mezinárodní a národní úrovni. V další části bakalářské práce se pojednává o terorismu a útocích skupin na leteckou dopravu. Poslední část se soustředí na srovnání bezpečnostní situace před útokem v New Yorku roku 2001 a poté. Jako příklady se srovnává Amerika s Evropou a se Středním Východem.
