Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat vývoj obezity u žen v JAR a její socioekonomické dopady se zaměřením na zdraví žen a ekonomiku země. Dílčím cílem je identifikovat hlavní determinanty obezity v Jihoafrické republice. První část je zaměřena na charakteristiku obezity, její prevalenci u žen ve světě, způsoby hodnocení a příčiny jejího vzniku, ale také na vztah obezity k nemocnosti a další negativní dopady a rizika spojená s nadměrnou hmotností. Práce se věnuje i problematice léčby a prevence obezity. Druhá část diplomové práce se zabývá tradičním jídelníčkem a změnou ve stravování a identifikuje determinanty vzniku chronických onemocnění souvisejících s obezitou. Dále analyzuje vývoj ženské obezity v JAR a její dopady na socioekonomický rozvoj. Pro analýzu vztahu obezity a zdraví žen byly vybrány hlavní nemoci spojené s obezitou a ke zkoumání závislosti mezi obezitou žen a ekonomikou země byly užity ukazatele HDP a nezaměstnanost. Analýza a její výsledky jsou následně diskutovány spolu s doporučeními v závěru. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the development of obesity of women in the RSA and its socio-economic impacts with a focus on women's health and the economy of the country. A partial objective is to identify the major determinants of obesity in RSA. The first part focuses on the characteristics of obesity, its prevalence, the ways of its measurement and the causes of its occurrence, also on the relationship between obesity and morbidity and other negative effects and risks. The thesis also includes the treatment and prevention of obesity. The second part of the diploma thesis deals with the traditional diet and nutrition transition and identifies the determinants of the occurrence of chronic diseases related to obesity. It further analyzes the development of female obesity in RSA and its impacts on socio-economic development. The analysis and its results are then discussed together with the recommendations in conclusion.
