Nedílnou součástí biomedicinského výzkumu je aplikace látek do organismu modelových zvířat. Tato práce nabízí přehled možných cest podání látek do těla laboratorního potkana se zaměřením na intraperitoneální aplikaci. V práci je podrobně popsán celý postup aplikace, od správné manipulace s potkanem a podmínkách jeho chovu, diskusi potkana jako biomodelu až po průběh samotné aplikace. Jako modelová látka je v této práci využit sylimarin, hlavní účinná látka ostropestřce mariánského. V práci je prezentován jeho pozitivní účinek na organismus, a to především na jaterní buňky. Nakonec je popsána problematika pěstování ostropestřce a možné překážky v podobě chorob a škůdců. An essential part of biomedical research is the application of substances to model animals. This thesis provides an overview of possible routes of administration of substances into the body of the laboratory rat, with a focus on intraperitoneal administration. The whole procedure of application is described in detail, from the proper handling and housing conditions of the rat, discussion of the rat as a biomodel to the course of the application itself. Sylimarin, the main active substance of milk thistle, is used as a model substance in this work. Its positive effect on the organism, especially on liver cells, is presented. Finally, the cultivation of milk thistle and possible obstacles in the form of diseases and pests are described.
