Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá rozvojovou činností nestátních neziskových organizací v peruánském regionu Cusco. Region Cusco lze považovat za jedno z nejnavštěvovanějších míst nejen Peru, ale i celé Jižní Ameriky. To je způsobeno nejen přírodními úkazy, ale také historickými památkami, které se na území dochovaly z dob Incké říše – v čele s mystickým chrámovým komplexem Machu Picchu. Region Cusco tak na první pohled působí jako region rozvinutý, ekonomicky rostoucí, bez nutnosti realizovat zde rozvojovou pomoc. Nabízí se však otázka, zdali je regionální rozvoj rovnoměrný a jakým způsobem se rozvíjí ty oblasti regionu, které nejsou turisticky atraktivní – typicky venkovské oblasti ve vysokých nadmořských výškách. Z toho důvodu byl region Cusco podroben souhrnné analýze. Protože nestátní neziskové organizace, z principu jejich činnosti, splňují roli „substitutu“ státní moci, jeví se jako ideální model pro rozvoj venkovských oblastí regionu Cusco. Výzkum jejich konkrétních činností byl proveden na základě oficiální dokumentace organizace APCI a vlády regionu Cusco, podpořené terénním výzkumem, který autor diplomové práce provedl během studijního výzkumného pobytu v regionu Cusco, v roce 2016. The diploma thesis is focused on the development activities of non-governmental organization in Peruvian region Cusco. This region is one of the most visited places not only in Peru, but also in South America in general. It is because of the natural phenomena as well as Inca historical sights, including the mystic temple of Machu Picchu. Cusco might thus give the impression of a developed and economically growing region without the need of development aid. Nevertheless, a question suggests itself if the regional development is even and how the areas that are not as appealing to tourists, especially those in the countryside of the given region, are developed. This is the main reason why region Cusco was thoroughly analysed. The non-governmental organizations seem to be a suitable model for the development aid in rural areas of Cusco because of the NGO’s principle of “substituted” governmental activity. The research of NGO´s activities was realized not only with the help of the official documentation of the APCI organization as well as regional government of Cusco, but also with the author’s field research, accomplished during his research stay in Cusco region in 2017
