Bakalářská práce se zabývá biologickou diverzitou – konkrétně jejím ohrožením, ochranou a s tím související ochranou zvláště chráněných druhů v České republice a participací Zoo Brno. Metodou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru se zaměstnankyní Zoo Brno byly zjištěny údaje o způsobu, problematice a metodice participace brněnské zoologické zahrady na záchranných projektech živočichů. Brněnská zoologická zahrada se v rámci záchranných programů podílí zejména na ochraně a posilování populací sysla a sýčka obecného. Díky tomu bylo do české přírody mezi lety 2018-2020 vypuštěno přibližně 60 jedinců sysla obecného. The bachelor thesis deals with biodiversity – threats, protection and related protection of specially protected species in Czech Republic and Zoo Brno participation. Using the method of semi-structured interview with an employee of the Zoo Brno, were obtained data on method, issues and methodology of participation of the Zoo Brno on animal rescue projects. Within the scope of the animal rescue programmes, Zoo Brno participates mainly in the protection and strenghthening of the populations of Little owls and European ground squirrels. Thanks to this participation, approximately 60 individuals of the European ground squirrel were released into the Czech nature between the years 2018 and 2020.
