My thesis is on the Immigration and Assimilation to Israel from former Soviet states with a focus on the migration in the 1990s. The beginning of my thesis I will discuss the scale and reasons for migration from the Former Soviet States while also explaining the history leading up to the large-scale migration to Israel in the 1990’s. Also, I will be focusing on the assimilation of these new immigrants, while compar-ing this migration to assimilation theories such as the classical and segmental the-ories while explaining the differences between theories. I will also cover the ab-sorption methods, obstacles, difficulties and successes of this significant wave of migration to Israel while also covering what can be learned from this migration wave. V bakalářské práci se zabývám imigrací a asimilací v Izraeli z bývalých sovětských států s důrazem na migraci v 90. letech 20. století. V úvodu své práce diskutuji rozsah a důvody migrace z bývalých států Sovětského svazu. Zároveň popisuji historii, která vedla k rozsáhlé migraci do Izraele po pádu východního bloku. V práci se také zaměřuji na asimilaci těchto nových imigrantů, porovnávám tuto migraci s asimilačními teoriemi jako je klasická teorie a teorie segmentace, a vysvětluji rozdíly mezi oběma teoriemi. Zároveň se věnuji metodám absorpce, překážkám, problémům a úspěchům této významné vlny migrace do Izraele. V závěru diskutuji možné přínosy této migrační vlny.
