Cílem diplomové práce je identifikace faktorů, které měly vliv na vývoj regionální míry nezaměstnanosti v zemích EU. Empirická část práce se zakládá na regresní analýze panelových dat s fixními efekty. Identifikace faktorů je provedena na datech z 285 regionů NUTS 2 za období let 2000 2019 a vysvětlující proměnné reprezentující jednotlivé faktory se skládají z proměnných na regionální či národ-ní úrovni. Regresní analýzu rozšiřují i modely zaměřené na období před a po Velké recesi, regiony bývalého západního a východního bloku Evropy či regiony s vysokou a nízkou nezaměstnaností. Základní regresní model ukázal, že regionální míra nezaměstnanosti zemí EU byla ovlivněna většinou proměnných z ekonomických, demografických a institucionálních faktorů. Zvláště regionální výstup ekonomiky, technologické změny zastoupené počtem přihlášených patentů k EPO, vysokoškolské vzdělání pracovníků či politika zaměstnanosti reprezentovaná indexem legislativní ochrany zaměstnanosti se projevily jako faktory snižující regionální míru nezaměstnanosti. A také v rámci modelů s podmiňujícími faktory se potvrdilo, že v období po finanční krizi měl regionální HDP větší vliv na vývoj regionální míry nezaměstnanosti než v období před krizí a statistická významnost hustoty odborů a míry participace žen se snížila.Hruškovská, M. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify the factors that influenced the development of the regional unemployment rate in EU countries. The empirical part of the work is based on the regression analysis of panel data with fixed effects. The identification of factors is performed on data from 285 NUTS 2 regions for the period 2000-2019 and the explanatory variables representing the individual factors consist of variables at the regional or national level. The regression analysis is also extended by the models focused on the period before and after the Great Recession, the regions of the former Western and Eastern bloc of Europe or the regions with a high and low unemployment. The basic regression model showed that the regional unemployment rate of EU countries was affected by most variables from economic, demographics and institutional factors. In particular, the regional output of the economy, technological changes represented by the number of patent applications to the EPO, the tertiary education of workers or the employment policy represented by the index of employment protection legislation proved to be factors reducing the regional unemployment rate. Also in the conditional factor models, it was confirmed that in the post-financial crisis period, regional GDP had a greater impact on the development of the regional unemployment rate than in the pre-crisis period, and the statistical significance of trade union density and female labour participation rates declined.
