Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu květinového rabata. Pozornost je zaměřena na jeho vývoj od období baroka po současnost. Pro zachycení vývoje jsou popsány vybrané atributy květinového rabata: umístění, tvar a velikost, vnitřní kompozice, práce s barevností a vizuálním působením, používané pěstitelské skupiny, výškové členění a způsob obruby rabata. Práce pojednává o proměnách těchto aspektů a zasazuje je do širšího historicko společenského vývoje a vývoje krajinářské architektury. Praktickým výstupem práce je návrh květinového rabata v objektu s historickou hodnotou, při jehož řešení byly použity teoretické poznatky o vývoji rabata a praktické poznatky o práci, přístupu k tvorbě a péči o květinové rabato, které autorka získala na stážích v anglických květinových zahradách East Lambrook, Malverleys a Great Dixter. The diploma thesis is devoted to the topic of the flower border with special emphasis on historical development of the flower border from the Baroque period to the present days. To capture the historical development of the flower border, selected attributes of border are described: location, shape and size, planting scheme, work with colour and height, sortiments and form or style of border edge. The diploma thesis traces the changes of these aspects and puts them into a broader context of historical and social development and the development of landscape architecture. The practical output of the diploma thesis is a planting scheme of flower border in the historical garden which is based on the gained knowledge about the history of flower border and its development as well as on the practical knowledge and skills obtained during traineeships in English flower gardens East Lambrook, Malverleys and Great Dixter.
