cze Abstract:
In recent years, extensive global loss of one of the most important insect pollinators, the honeybee (Apis mellifera), is taking place. A. mellifera contributes significantly to the production of crops and biodiversity maintenance. One of the possible reasons for the CCD - Colony Collapse Disorder is viruses. Their influence is mostly caused by the global spread of the mite Varroa destructor which infects the bees and also functions as a vector of virus transition. The thesis, in the form of literary research, deals with the most common viral diseases infecting the A. mellifera and also the immune response of the organism to this infection. The different types of immune defences are described on the individual and the whole colony level, and also the antiviral immune defence of the bees is characterised in detail together with specific immune genes expressed. The the-sis also includes the methods for detection and expression that can be used to identify and further study the immune response genes.
