Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá výskytem vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků v Nemocnici Tábor, a.s. V teoretické části bakalářské práce se vyskytují základní informace o rodu Enterococcus, vzniku antibiotické rezistence, možnostech diagnostiky vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků a o sledování vývoje této rezistence. Obsahuje informace o infekcích spojených se zdravotní péčí a preventivních opatření. V praktické části je popsán laboratorní postup vyšetřování enterokoků, jejich identifikace, stanovení citlivostí k antimikrobiálním látkám a následné stanovení vankomycinové rezistence. Dále se v praktické části hodnotí získaná data o výskytu vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků v Nemocnici Tábor, a.s. v časovém období od roku 2018 do roku 2021. Výskyt vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků byl zhodnocen v rámci jednotlivých odděleních v Nemocnici Tábor, a.s., v rámci procentuálního zastoupení s ostatními enterokoky, v rámci výskytu a léčby klostridiové kolitidy vankomycinem. Zhodnocena byla i data celorepubliková. Tato práce je zaměřena na zodpovězení otázek, které se týkají zvýšeného nárůstu vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků v posledních letech v Nemocnici Tábor, a.s. tak i plošně v rámci České republiky. Je rozebrána otázka týkající se zvýšeného výskytu vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků v kontextu s léčbou klostridiové infekce, zda-li dochází ke stejnému stoupajícímu se trendu. V závěru práce je shrnut význam vankomycin-rezistentních enterokoků, jejich četnost výskytu dle stanovených cílů a výzkumných otázek, na které bylo odpovězeno. This bachelor thesis deals with the occurrence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci in Tábor Hospital, a.s. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis is focused on the basic information about the genus Enterococcus, the development of antibiotic resistence, the possibilities of diagnosing vancomycin-resistant enterococci and monitoring the development of this resistence. It also contains information on healthcare associated infections and prevention against them. The practical part describes the laboratory procedure of the examination of enterococci, their identification, determination of susceptibility to antimicrobial substances and subsequent determination of vancomycin resistance. Moreover, the practical part evaluates the obtained data on the occurrence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci in the Hospital Tábor, a.s. in the period from 2018 to 2021. The presence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci was evaluated within individual departments at Tábor Hospital, a.s. The percentage was compared with other enterococci, in the incidence and treatment of Clostridial colitis with vancomycin. Data from the whole nation were also used and evaluated. This thesis is focused on answering questions regarding the increased growth of vancomycin-resistant enterococci in previous years in the Tábor Hospital, a.s. as well as widely within the Czech Republic. Other question includes the increased incidence of vancomycin-resistant enterococci with the incidence and further treatment of Clostridial infection, if the same increasing trend occurs. The conclusion of the thesis is a summary of the importance of vancomycin-resistant enterococci, their frequency of occurrence according to the set goals and research questions, which have been answered.
