1 Abstrakt Práce se komplexně zabývá diskuzí rozpoutanou zveřejněním Easterlinova článku (1974), který upozornil na komplikovanější vztah mezi absolutní výší důchodu a subjektivně pociťovaným štěstím, než předpokládala ekonomická teorie. Představena je literatura, která hledá vysvětlení, proč vztah - vyšší důchod znamená vyšší užitek a štěstí jedince - neplatí bez výjimek. Speciální pozornost je věnována lidským vlastnostem: jedincova srovnávání své situace se situací jeho referenční skupiny, jedincova srovnávání své situace se situacemi, na které byl zvyklý v minulosti, jedincova zvyknutí si na novou situaci a změně jeho aspirací, na nadhodnocování užitku z dosažení cíle. První zmíněná vlastnost je experimentálně zkoumána s využitím analogie: důchod jako ohodnocení pracovního výkonu, známka jako ohodnocení výkonu studenta. Experiment neprokázal, že by srovnávání studenta s jeho referenční skupinou mělo vliv na hodnocení jeho vlastního výkonu. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na popis vztahu mezi hrubým národním důchodem na obyvatele a spokojeností obyvatel dané země. Je zkoumáno, jak se vliv důchodu na spokojenost liší při srovnání zemí podle jejich hospodářské rozvinutosti. Dále je testováno, zda v bohatších zemích klesá důležitost důchodu jako faktoru ovlivňujícího spokojenost lidí. Takový vývoj nepřímo... 1 Abstract My Bachelor thesis deals in a comprehensive way with the discussion unleashed by the publication of the Easterlin's article which called attention to more complex relations between the absolute level of income and the subjective well-being than the economic theory would ever assume . There is the literature shown which finds the explanation why the relation - the absolute level of income and the subjective well-being - does not hold without exceptions. A special attention is devoted to the human behaviour: comparison of the individual's situation with the situation of his reference group, comparison of the individual's situation with the situation he was accustomed to in the past, the individual's adaptation to the new situation and change of his aspiration and on the overvaluation of the benefits from the achieved goal. The first characteristic is tested experimentally with use of the analogy: the income as the evaluation of the job performance, the mark as the evaluation of the student. The experiment did not prove that the comparison of the student with his reference group would have the influence on his own performance.
