V časovém úseku třech měsíců byla v pražské ordinaci praktického lékaře pro děti a dorost nabízena termomechanická pomůcka Buzzy® jako úleva od bolesti a strachu spojeného s očkováním. Ze sledované skupiny dětí a rodičů (n-34) měla větší část zájem se s výrobkem blíže seznámit a použít jej při očkování. Potvrdilo se, že děti i rodiče mají zájem o nějakou formu úlevy od bolesti a strachu během invazivního výkonu. Pomůcku si děti přidržovaly samy nebo jejich rodiče na paži v místě nad vpichem jehly. Po provedeném očkování s Buzzy® děti hodnotily dle pětibodové škály VAS vnímání bolesti při vpichu a aplikaci očkovací látky nejčastěji jako "nebolí" nebo "bolí trochu". Většina dětí pomůcku považovala za účinnou. Na stejné škále VAS vibraci a chlad berušky Buzzy® děti převážně hodnotily příznivě. Některým dětem vibrace a chlad pomůcky nevyhovovaly. Vzhledem k individuálnímu vnímání bolesti a strachu není možné Buzzy® považovat za zaručený "lék" pro děti, které jsou senzitivní a úzkostné. Avšak v rámci citlivého, empatického a individualizovaného přístupu k malým i větším pacientům, může Buzzy® některým z nich účinně ulevit a posloužit jako funkční distrakce. Každý pacient, u kterého dokážeme snížit bolest a strach, je významným úspěchem a posunem k naplnění individualizované ošetřovatelské péče. Klíčová... Over a period of three months, the Buzzy® thermomechanical device was offered in a Prague general practitioner's office for children and adolescents as a relief from pain and fear associated with vaccination. Of the group of children and parents (n-34) studied, the majority were interested in learning more about the product and using it during vaccination. It was confirmed that both children and parents were interested in some form of pain and fear relief during the invasive procedure. The device was held on the arm by the children themselves or their parents at the point above the needle insertion. After the Buzzy® vaccination, the children rated their perception of pain during the injection and application of the vaccine as "does not hurt" or "hurts a little" according to the five-point VAS scale. Most children found the device effective. On the same VAS scale, the vibration and coolness of the Buzzy® ladybird were mostly rated favourably by the children. Some children were not comfortable with the vibration and coolness of the aid. Due to individual perceptions of pain and fear, the Buzzy® cannot be considered a guaranteed "cure" for children who are sensitive and anxious.
