Abstract: Water-soluble proteins extracted from Bt-transgenic and non-transgenic maize varieties were digested by trypsin and analyzed by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) in several acidic background electrolytes. The found qualitative and quantitative differences among CZE profiles of tryptic peptide maps can be potentially used to differentiate transgenic and non-transgenic maize species.
