Abstract: Affinity capillary electrophoresis was found to be suitable and effective tool for the quantitative evaluation of strong as well as weak interactions between hexaarylbenzene-based receptor and several alkali metal ions in methanol. The selectivity of the above receptor expressed by binding constants towards alkali metal ions was found to increase in the order of Na+ < Li+ < K+ < Cs+ < Rb+.
