Abstract: The study is focused on the value of critical Reynolds number Rec and also on suitable approaches to the measuring and modelling of the compressible viscous fluid flow in narrow channels. The results of numerical simulations performed using an in-house code based on the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method are compared with experimental data. The chosen approaches and numerical methods prove themselves to be suitable for investigation of the compressible flow in narrow channels and can be used in future research in this area.
