The thesis "The Sacrament of Confirmation - the theological understanding in the particular documents and regulations of the dioceses (in Slovak Republic and Czech Republic) and its comparison with the theological concept in the universal magisterial documents from the second Vatican council until now" deals with the sacrament of confirmation as the essential part of Christian initiation which constitutes the heart of sacramental organism and shapes being of every Christian. First two chapters analyze presence of the seven aspects of confirmation in universal and particular magisterial documents (history of salvation; sacramental sign; relationship to the rest of initiation, common priesthood and apostolate; effects; recipient and catechesis; minister; ecumenical perspective). Then in the third chapter, the two approaches are compared and critically considered. Anotácia Diplomová práca "Sviatosť birmovania - jej teologické pochopenie v partikulárnych dokumentoch a smerniciach (v ČR a SR) v porovnaní s jej teologickým pojatím vo všeobecných dokumentoch Magistéria od II. vatikánskeho koncilu po súčasnosť" sa z pohľadu systematickej teológie venuje sviatosti birmovania ako jednej z troch iniciačných sviatostí predstavujúcich jadro sviatostného organizmu a utvárajúcich bytie kresťana na nadprirodzenej rovine. V troch kapitolách je najprv analyzovaný prístup všeobecného Magistéria k siedmym aspektom sviatosti birmovania (kontext dejín spásy; sviatostné znamenie; vzťah k ostatným iniciačným sviatostiam, všeobecnému kňazstvu a apoštolátu; účinky; prijímateľ a vzťah sviatosti a katechézy; vysluhovateľ; ekumenická perspektíva) v rámci po sebe nasledujúcich pontifikátov. Následne je skúmaná prítomnosť týchto aspektov v partikulárnych smerniciach a textoch českých a slovenských biskupov. Na záver je predložené porovnanie a kritické zhodnotenie prístupu k sviatosti birmovania na úrovni univerzálnej Cirkvi a miestnych českých a slovenských komunít.
