Větrné elektrárny (VTE) jsou fenoménem, který nadále názorově rozděluje českou laickou i odbornou veřejnost. Z hlediska realizace projektů jejich výstavby je přitom klíčovou právě otázka sociální akceptace, a to nejen ze strany rezidentů dotčených lokalit, ale i z pohledu širší veřejnosti, její politické reprezentace a médií. V kontextu ČR přitom prozatím chybí komplexněji zaměřená práce, která by analyzovala a zhodnotila otázku potenciálních vlivů VTE na životní prostředí a kvalitu života lidí z hlediska subjektivní percepce samotnými sociálními aktéry - obyvateli dotčených oblastí. Tento příspěvek má za cíl částečně zaplnit tuto mezeru. A plan to increase a share of energy production gained from renewable sources has been proclaimed and ratified in most of the European countries. The usage of so called clean energy has become a global challenge that raises big controversies on a local and regional level though. Wind turbines turned out to be the most controversial phenomenon for both the scientific and public community. The aim of the paper is not to discuss options of localization of wind turbines and their potential impacts on the landscape and environment on a base of any „obejctive“ criterions and protection limits but to analyze and evaluate this phenomenon from the point of view of subjective perception of social actors (residents and visitors) of concerned localities.
