Tématem diplomové práce je analýza vzniku Svobodné skotské církve (Free Church of Scotland), která se vytvořila odloučením od Skotské církve (Church of Scotland) v roce 1843. Cílem práce bude rozbor původních příčin odloučení, které se týkají především patronátního zákona z roku 1712, a důležitých mezníků (např. Generálního sněmu z roku 1834), které vedly k roztržce a vzniku Svobodné skotské církve. Dalším předmětem zájmu bude představení dvou skupin, které se v rámci bojů o vznik Svobodné skotské církve utvářely (Evangelicals x Moderates), a také pohled britské politické scény na rozkol. V závěru bude představen následný vývoj Svobodné skotské církve po roztržce. Klíčová slova: Svobodná skotská církev, Skotská církev, patronát, umírnění, evangelikálové The theme of this thesis is an analysis of the formation of the Free Church of Scotland which was created due to separation from the Church of Scotland in 1843. The aim of the thesis is to analyze original causes of the separation that concerns especially the Patronage Act of 1712 and significant milestones (e.g.: General Assembly of 1834) that led to dispute and creation of the Free Church of Scotland. Another subject of interest will be the presentation of two groups that were formed during the struggles for the formation of the Free Church of Scotland (Evangelicals X Moderates) and also the view of British political scene for a on this schism.
