This bachelor thesis is concerned with the use of the German indefinite pronoun frau in contemporary written German language. It is a phenomenon occurring as a substitute for the indeterminate pronoun man used as a general subject. The thesis is based on DeReKo, the German reference corpus, in which 1,000 use examples were selected for the analysis. In the practical part, the corpus data are processed and interpreted, the theoretical parts map the use and meaning of the phenomenon in various linguistic disciplines, and comment on its state of research in available vocabularies. The aim of the work is to outline the development and occurrences of the phenomenon use in the period 2001-2015. Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o užití německého neurčitého zájmena frau v současné psané němčině. Jde o jev vyskytující se jako náhrada za neurčité zájmeno man, používané jako všeobecný podmět. Práce se opírá o Německý referenční korpus DeReKo, v kterém bylo pro analýzu vybráno 1000 dokladů využití. V praktické části jsou data z korpusu zpracovávána a interpretována, teoretické části mapují použití a význam jevu v různých jazykovědných oblastech a komentují jeho stav bádání v dostupné slovníkové i sekundární literatuře. Cílem práce je nastínit vývoj a výskyty užití jevu v období 2001-2015.
