Cílem této bakalářské práce je nalézt hlavní příčiny současného nepoměru v ekonomickém výkonu Indie a Číny. K jejich nalezení jsem využil komparační analýzy. Nejdříve jsem s její pomocí určil, že se výkon obou ekonomik výrazně podobal v 60. letech 20. století. A poté jsem porovnával jejich ekonomický vývoj až do konce indického transformačního období v roce 1998. Soustředil jsem se na transformační proces obou zemí, zejména pak na aspekt otevírání hospodářství zahraničnímu obchodu a kapitálu (obchodní a investiční politiku). Pomocí obsahu konkrétních přijatých opatření obou států, které konfrontuji s vývojem makroekonomických ukazatelů a porovnávám mezi sebou jsem hodnotil jejich efektivitu a hledal vzájemné odlišnosti, které byly zásadní pro současný stav. Jako hlavní nalezené odlišnosti popisuji rozdíly v sektorové struktuře (indické zaměření na služby a čínské na výrobní průmysl), naprosto opačné přístupy k výrobním přebytkům a provedení transformačního procesu (aspektu otevření). Přínos práce by měl spočívat v částečném vyjasnění kontextu hospodářského vývoje Indie pro analýzu jejího současného růstového potenciálu a kritického zhodnocení scénářů čínskoindické hegemonie či indického převzetí vůdčí role v Asii, s nimiž jsem se v odborné literatuře a médiích setkal. The goal of this bachelors thesis is to find the cause behind current uneven economic landscapes of China and India. I have achieved this goal through utilising comparative analysis. Through the analysis, I have determined that both economies developed in a similar fashion up until the 1960s. After this period I have compared the economic development of both countries until the end of the Indian transformation period in the year 1998. I focused on the transformational process of both countries, specifically the aspect of opening up of both economies to foreign trade and capital i.e. I compared their trade and investment policies. Via the content of these policies which I confront with the macroeconomic reality I determined their effectivity and I searched for key differences that are responsible for the current uneven economic state of the two countries. The main differences that I describe in the paper are the differences in sector structure (Indian focus on services as opposed to Chinese focus on manufacturing), opposite approaches to producer surplus and the execution of the transformational process (the aspect of opening up).
