Cílem práce je analyzovat význam, vliv a úlohu rozvojových zemí ve WTO s důrazem na Všeobecnou dohodu o obchodu službami a na příkladu rozvojové země Indie vyhodnotit výhody a nevýhody participace země v GATS. Úvodní část práce se věnuje rozvojovým zemím, světovému obchodu se službami a liberalizaci obchodu službami jak na obecné úrovni, tak pod GATS. Druhá část se zabývá postavením rozvojových zemí v GATS, jejich úlohou, významem a podílem na současném kole jednání. Poslední část rozebírá postavení Indie ve WTO a GATS a zabývá se sektorem vzdělávání. V závěru jsou zhodnoceny výhody a nevýhody účasti země v GATS. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the importance, influence and role of developing countries in the WTO with focus on the General Agreement on Trade in Services and on the example of the developing country India evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the country's participation in GATS. The first part of the thesis is devoted to developing countries, the world trade in services and the services liberalization, both at general level and under GATS. The second part deals with the status of developing countries in GATS, their role, importance and participation in the current round of negotiations. The last part analyzes India's position in the WTO and GATS and deals with the education sector. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the country's participation in GATS are assessed.
