Inženýrská akademie ČR má ve svém statutu zakotveno úsilí o zlepšení technické vzdělanosti, informovanosti o výsledcích výzkumu a vývoje a o zlepšení komunikace meyi badatelskou a realizační sférou v inženýrských disciplínách. Proto se IA ČR rozhodla založit své vlastní specializované pracoviště s názvem "CKTO - Czech Knowlege Transfer Office" jako formální strukturu, která bude schopna naplnit její cíle a poslání. The S4P programme of the Engineering Academy of the Czech Republic concentrates on new research knowledge transfer into industry and applications. Beside the research information system the S4P programme also includes other activities of the EACR, e.g. education, publications nad conferences on knowledge transfer.
