Snahou této práce je najít odpovědi na otázky a přimět čtenáře k zamyšlení nad touto, dnes velmi diskutovanou, problematikou. Předkládaný text poukazuje na různé aspekty, které je nutné brát v úvahu. Například lidská důstojnost, autonomie člověka, historické souvislosti spojené s tímto tématem, ale také legislativní úpravu a mnoho dalších. Práce se zbývá problematikou euthanasie především v kontextu evropských zemí a to jak z pohledu legislativního a etického, tak z pohledu náboženského a otevírá otázku, zda se zákonem chráněným právem na život nejde ruku v ruce i právo na důstojnou smrt. Práce se snaží umístit celou problematiku do řady souvislostí. Jednou z nich je například lékařská péče, především paliativní, která je se smrtí a umíráním maximálně spojena. Práce má vyvolat diskusi ve společnosti, která musí nutně přehodnotit svůj postoj ke smrti a umírání ze všech možných úhlů pohledu. Presenting text advert to different aspects which are necessary look at. For example, human dignity, human autonomy, historical contexts involved in this topic, or legislative adjustment as well and the others. This text is about problematic of euthanasia in particular context European countries with the view of legislative and ethic, also religious, and opening question whether trade=marked the right for the existence is going hand in hand with the right for human dignity. The text makes efforts to locate the problematic in a set of contexts. One of them is for example medical care, especially palliative car, which is linked maximally with dying and death.
