Abstract: This paper deals with the segmentation of lung parenchyma and extraction of airways tree from three dimensional CT scans. The external mask of the lungs is created and subsequently used to ease the process of airway segmentation. A method, based on grayscale reconstruction, is used for segmentation proces.
