Bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu údržby a dnešního využití synagog, které v důsledku šoa a následného období komunistické vlády částečně nebo zcela ztratily svoji původní funkci a podobu. Obsahuje přehled o vývoji židovského osídlení a synagogální architektury na území České republiky. Definuje synagogu a zařízení interiéru. V praktické části se zabývá synagogami, jež jsou kulturními památkami v Plzeňském kraji; popisuje jejich historii, stavební obnovu a současné využití. Zároveň upozorňuje na stavby synagog na Plzeňsku, které se do dnešní doby dochovaly v přestavbách či zcela zanikly. Práce je doplněna fotografiemi vybraných objektů. The bachelor´s thesis deals with the issue of maintenance and current utilization of synagogues that partially or completely have lost their original function and appearance due to the Holocaust and subsequent Communism. After a brief overview of historical development of Jewish settlements and synagogue architecture in the Czech Republic, the thesis goes on with definition of synagogue and interior equipment. The practical part deals with the synagogues in the Pilsen region, which are the part of cultural heritage; describes their history, building restoration and current utilization. While pointing out synagogue buildings, that are today preserved as rebuildings or have disappeared completely. The thesis is supplemented by photographs of selected objects.
