Společenstva epigeických brouků byla studována na čtyřech typech balíků biomasy v katastrálním území Vrbice u Žitné, okres Prachatice. Jednalo se o balíky travní senáže uložené na okraji trvalého travního porostu, o balíky sena jednotlivě rozmístěné na trvalém travním porostu, dále o balíky slámy rozmístěné na poli orné půdy a o balíky slámy uložené na okraji orné půdy. První tři typy balíků byly na stanovišti jen několik málo měsíců (2-3), zatímco balíky slámy se na čtvrtém stanovišti nacházely už více než jeden rok. Pro odběr vzorků byla zvolena metoda prosevu detritu. V balících senáže bylo nalezeno 9 druhů z 5 čeledí. V balících sena bylo nalezeno 7 druhů ze 4 čeledí. V balících slámy, které byly na stanovišti kratší dobu (3 měsíce), bylo zjištěno 10 druhů z 6 čeledí. Na balících slámy, které byly na stanovišti 13 měsíců, bylo nalezeno 14 druhů ze 4 čeledí. Index antropogenního ovlivnění společenstev prokázal, že se jedná o velmi silně ovlivněná stanoviště. Epigeic beetle communities were studied on four types of biomass bales in the cadastral unit Vrbice u Žitné, district Prachatice. Involved were bales a of grass silage stored on the edge of permanent grassland, on hay bales individually placed on permanent grassland , followed by straw bales scattered in the fields of arable land and straw bales stored on the edge of arable land. The first three types of bales were in position only few months (2-3), while straw bales at the fourth position had been more than one year. The sampling method was selected a sieving of detritus. In the bales of hay were found 9 species of 5 families. In hay bales were found 7 species of 4 families. In the straw bales (which spent in position less time - 3 months), were found 10 species of 6 families. In the bales which were in position 13 months, were found 14 species of 4 families. Index of anthropogenic influence on communities demonstrated that the positions are strongly influenced.
