Práce se zabývá mezinárodním humanitárním právem a jejím cílem je analýza ukotvení tohoto práva v Haagských a Ženevských úmluvách a jejich Dodatkových protokolech. Text je uvozen popisem dějinných událostí, které měly vliv na vznik a vývoj mezinárodního humanitárního práva a Mezinárodního výboru Červeného kříže. Mezinárodní humanitární právo je vázáno především v Haagských a Ženevských úmluvách a Dodatkových protokolech, jejichž důležité části jsou v práci interpretovány. Práce se zabývá těmi částmi úmluv a těmi pojmy, které jsou pro její obsah stěžejní. Důležitou součástí práce je závěrečné zhodnocení mezinárodního humanitárního práva jako celku a jeho významu. This work deals with international humanitarian law and its aim is to analyze the anchor of this law in the Hague and Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols. The text begins with a description of historical events that influence the formation and development of international humanitarian law and the International Committee of the Red Cross. International humanitarian law is primarily bound in the Hague and Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols, which are important parts in the work interpreted. This work deals with the elements of those conventions and concepts that are crucial for its content. An important part of the work is the final evaluation of international humanitarian law as a whole and its meaning.
