Diplomová práce je zaměřena na britskou pojišťovací společnost Lloyd's of London. První část popisuje pojistný trh Velké Británie, jeho dlouholetou historii a regulaci. Specifickou částí je londýnský pojistný trh, kde má své významné postavení Lloyd's. Stěžejní část práce je věnována charakteristice Lloyd's a analýze její pojišťovací činnosti. Zaměření na strukturu a řízení pojišťovny. Představení jednotlivých kategorií pojištění, kterými jsou pojištění odpovědnosti, pojištění majetku, pojištění námořní dopravy, energetické pojištění, pojištění motorových vozidel, pojištění letecké dopravy a zajištění. Cílem práce je přiblížit činnost této společnosti veřejnosti, poukázat na její tržní sílu a způsob chování v krizových situacích. Na konci práce je představen rozsah působení pojišťovny ve světě. This Thesis is focused on the British insurance company Lloyd's of London. The first part describes the UK insurance market and its long history and regulation. A specific part is the London insurance market, where Lloyd's has an important position. The main part is devoted to the characterization of Lloyd's and its analysis of the insurance business. It focuses on the structure and management of the insurance company and introduces the individual classes of insurance, which are casualty, property, marine, energy, motor, aviation and reinsurance. The aim of this thesis is to present to the public how Lloyd's business works and to identify its market power and behavior in crisis situations. At the end of this thesis a detailed scope of action for Lloyd's is presented.
