Reálná a nominální konvergence je aktuálním tématem ve většině "nových" členských států Evropské unie, a to zejména před jejich vstupem do EMU. Tato práce se zabývá konvergencí České republiky k zemím EU-15 a porovnává stupeň konvergence naší ekonomiky s některými vybranými "novými" členy EU. Práce je rozdělena do tří hlavních částí. První část se věnuje definici pojmu ekonomické konvergence, tak jak jej definuje standardní ekonomická literatura. Druhá část se zabývá procesem reálné konvergence a jejím ukazatelům na příkladě České republiky včetně komparace s vybranými státy EU. Třetí část je věnována konvergenci nominální. I v případě nominální konvergence je provedena komparace s vybranými státy EU a vyhodnocení plnění maastrichtských konvergenčních kritérií Českou republikou. Cílem této práce je poskytnout komplexní pohled na konvergenci České republiky k "starým" zemím Evropské unie. Real and nominal convergence is an actual topic in majority of "new" member states of European union, especially, before entering EMU. This paper is dealing with convergence of the Czech Republic to the EU-15 countries and compares the level of convergence of our economy with some specific "new" members of EU. Work is devided into three main sections. First section is adressed to the definition of economic convergence as it is defined in standard economic literature. Second section deals with process of real convergence and its index on example of the Czech Republic including comparision with the selected countries of EU. Third section is devoted to the nominal convergence. The case of nominal convergence is also compared with the selected countries of EU and evaluation of fulfilment of maastricht convergence criterias by Czech Republic is carried out. Aim of this work is to provide complex view on the convergence of the Czech Republic to the "old" European union countries.
