Development of Olympic snowboarding performances on the halfpipe
Ježek, David ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Gnad, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Development of Olympic snowboarding performances on the halfpipe Objective: The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the performance of snowboarders on the halfpipe in the years 1998 to 2018 at the Winter Olympics Games. Methods: The main method was to observe and compare the competitors on the halfpipe. In each year of the Olympic Games, the 3 best athletes in the given category were selected. The method of comparison, observation and content analysis was used in the diploma thesis. Results: The results bring an overview of individual rides in the halfpipe at the Winter Olympics Games from 1998 to 2018, depending on the selected observation criteria. They also compare individual rides and point out the development of performance. Conclusion: The development of selected parameters was noticeable, however not completely continuous. Two hypotheses were refused and one was confirmed. Keywords: snowboard, achievement, competition, development, halfpipe
Comparison of parameters measuring upper limb movement on land and water
Kružík, Josef ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Zenáhlík, Aleš (referee)
Title: Comparison of parameters for measuring the movement of the upper limbs on land and water. The Aim: The aim of this work is to compare selected parameters of swimming performance and technique, obtained in a 25m pool, in a pool with countercurrent (Flum) and on a biokinetic simulator Biokinetic. The Methods: The data used in the diploma thesis were obtained by direct measurements in the swimming pool, in Flum and by means of the Biokinetic swimming simulator. SmartPaddles were used to collect data. The data were then evaluated by Trainsense software and processed into tables and graphs. The Results: Based on the results, we can state that the highest power (W) was always delivered on the Biokinetic. The biggest difference between the average performances of upper limb was in the right hand during the crawl, when the hand on the Biokinetic (257 N) gave 701% of the performance of the right hand in the pool (42.53 N). The results of the average force of the upper limb propulsion for Butterfly in the pool were 19.08 N for the right hand and 17.21 N for the left hand. For Butterfly in the Flum were 13.68 N for the right hand and 11.93 N for the left hand. During the crawl, the proband generated 12.66 N with the right hand and 13.96 N with the left hand. When swimming in Flum, the force values for...
Combined event training
Klučinová, Eliška ; Vindušková, Jitka (advisor) ; Komínková, Linda (referee)
Author: Bc. Eliška Klučinová Title: HEPTATHLONIST'S TRAINING Objectives: The main objective of this work is to evaluate my own performance development in relation to the training completed. This work is focused mainly on the year 2014, in which the Czech record was broken. The second objective is to compare and evaluate the composition of the training under the guidance of three different coaches and to evaluate the entire career of the heptathlete. Methods: This work uses methods of analysis and comparison. Results: The analysis of performance development discloses a gradual increase in performance in relation to the training completed. During the analysis of the training macrocycle 2013/2014, possible causes of the increase in performance were found, especially in the explosive strength training. When comparing individual coaching approaches certain insufficiencies and advantages in the composition of training and training methods were revealed. A power-oriented training was the most suitable considering my somatotype. Conclusion: In my career, I managed to reach my maximum in European and world competition (3rd place EAICH 2015, 4th place WAICH 2018, 7th place WACH 2013). The main limits, due to which I did not achieve better results, were mainly insufficient level of speed skills and health...
The effect of various breathing variations on intra-thoracic pressure, bar kinematics and muscle activity in bench press exercise.
Blažek, Dušan ; Šťastný, Petr (advisor) ; Vágner, Michal (referee) ; Farana, Roman (referee)
Title: The effect of breathing technique on intra-thoracic pressure, kinematics of barbell, and muscle activity during bench press exercise. Objectives: The main aim of this study is to determine relationship between breathing technique and bench press exercise. Furthermore, determine which breathing modification leads to overcoming highest resistance and how each individual breathing techniques (Valsalva maneuver (VM), Hold breath (HB), Lung packing (PAC), "reversed breathing" (REVB)) affects kinematics of barbell, and muscle activity, during different intensity (1 RM, 4RM, 8RM, 12RM). Methods: Experiment of cross-sectional character, with usage of our-calibrated sensor, for intrathoracic pressure measurements, 3D kinematics with passive markers and surface electromyography. For measuring anthropometric measurements was further used goniometer, digital scale, and measuring tape. Comparisons of the breathing techniques was done by analysis of covariance ANOVA, while particular parameters were compared by Pearson correlation. Results: Except of REVB technique, which indicated significantly lower load, there was no significant difference between techniques in lifted resistance. Similar effect was observed at results of intrathoracic pressure, where REVB technique showed significantly lower pressure,...
Stress situations in a tennis match
Pěničková, Dominika ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title of the thesis STRESS SITUATIONS IN TENNIS MATCH The goal of the thesis The aim of the work is to contribute to the understanding of the psyche of a tennis player, especially in the relation to a tennis match in singles. Specifically, I wanted to identify the mental states and factors that can affect the game performance of tennis players and the rate of use of psychological training in tennis. To meet the goal, the following scientific questions were created: To what extent do tennis players use psychological training? Is inspiration, motivation and determination important for the players to maintain the high-quality performance? Can players concentrate or maintain concentration during the match? What thoughts and feelings do players have before beginning the match? How do they react to their current state of mind? How do players in model "particular" situation react to stressful situations in the "key moments" of the match? Method In this work, an anonymous written survey was used to collect data, which consisted of 39 questions. The research group consisted of registered and former ČTS players, of different genders, who were over 18 years of age, playing different tournament classes. Personal experience and expert consultations were used to create the survey. The results were...
The influence of fitness athletic training on the performance in throwing at a given target and throwing for distance
Libra, Miloš ; Přívětivý, Lubomír (advisor) ; Jebavý, Radim (referee)
Title The influence of fitness athletic training on the performance in throwing at a given target and throwing for distance. The aim of study The aim of this work is to provide and to review the influence of fitness athletic training on the performance in throwing at a given target and distance. 23 members of 312. CBRN battalion were chosen to take part on two competitions in throwing at the given target and throwing for distance. They competed in one discipline of military pentathlon. Methods In thesis were used a method of analysis and a method of comparison. The method of analysis was used in each event and the method of comparison in comparing results of the competitions. The method of synthesis is used in the conclusion. Result We found out that athletic training has a positive influence on performance in throwing at a given target and throwing for distance. Keywords discipline, pentathlon, sport technique, training, performance, training cycle
Acute effect of warm-up on the force of a punch
Rudolf, Jan ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Zdobinský, Adam (referee)
Title: Acute effect of a warm-up on the force of a punch Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to test whether a warm-up before a performance affects the force of a punch at a sample participants practicing full-contact combat sports. Further goal is to analyze a change in the force of a punch depending on elapsed time after warming up. Methods: Each participant in this experimental study with intra-subject design went through all phases of the measurement, where the force of a punch was tested in four specified times (before a warm-up and then 4, 10 and 25 minutes after the warm-up). Results: No statistically significant effect of a warm-up on the force of a punch was observed, nor was there a statistically significant change in the force of a punch during the time following a warm-up. However, a warm-up did have a significant effect on change in heart rate and body temperature. Keywords: Combat sports, performance, fight, dynamic stretching, explosive power, punch sensor
