Strategic planning is currently a widespread tool for territorial development. Strategic plans can be used to plan activities, but they can also be a means of participation. Ideally, strategic planning should be based on mutual learning while the strategic plan should be a result of mutual consensus. In practice, we are dealing with the predominantly expert and predominantly community-based way of implementation, which differs through the involvement of local actors. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether communication and cooperation of the public administration with the non-profit secotr, private sector and the public sector works; and whether is the process of elaboration of the strategic plan and its implementation functional. Relations between forms of processing and a rate of realization of strategic plans
Hauschke, David ; Perlín, Radim (advisor) ; Miškovský, Josef (referee)
Nowadays, there is quite a lot of attention dedicated to strategic planning in Czechia. This process is ended by a document which should indicate the direction of the area's development. A strategic plan is the document of a territorial development which is processed by municipalities and regions. To be able to fulfill the purpose of the strategic plan, it is necessary to use the document - which means to put projects approved in the document into practice. The strategic plan is processed in two basic ways - community method of processing and expert method of processing. The main purpose of this writing is to identify if one of these methods leads to a better success rate of the document. The success rate is indicated by the bigger amount of implemented projects or activities and also by a positive change in defined area which could not be possible to achieve with no strategic plan. The principal hypothesis is that community method of processing leads to the better success rate of the document. This hypothesis is based on concepts of social and human capital as well as on social networks which underline cooperation and the ability of consensus. Another no less important feature is the concept of governance because it stresses that citizens are involved in governance and their opinions matter....
A Qualitative Study of Strategy Creation in a Sports Organization
Máchová, Marcela ; Tripes, Stanislav (advisor) ; Král, Pavel (referee)
The success of each organization is based on a good strategy. In my master´s thesis I deal with the topic of what is needed to create a good strategy and whether this theory is valid even in the sports environment. In particular, I deal with the creation of the strategy in the Won-hyo Třeboň sports club and how it's management works throughout the strategic planning cycle. The aim of the thesis is to find out how is the management of the club approaching the strategy. If they consider the strategy important. Eventually how do they approach each stage of the strategic planning cycle and how does this reflect the club's outputs? The research has a qualitative essence and is mainly based on interviews with the members of the club who are involved in the strategy creation. I have participated in this research. The result of the thesis is that the management considers the strategy to be important but does not proceed in accordance with the theoretical bases resulting from the research and synthesis of the strategy and strategic planning cycle literature. This fact at the end opens the space for possible recommendations for improving the effectiveness of the strategy in a given sports club.
