Out of Scope? Open science monitoring and grey literature
Schöpfel, Joachim ; Prost, Hélène
The paper will assess if and how the EU and the French Open Science Monitors provide qualitative and quantitative data on grey literature such as conference papers, theses and dissertations, reports, working papers or preprints. How is grey literature included in their data sources, in the methodology and indicators, in published surveys and case studies? The authors will contact the Monitor project teams to learn more about their future projects and if they intend to give more importance to the non-commercial part of academic communication.

Fluorinated micropollutants in the environment
Hatasová, Nicolette ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (advisor) ; Klusoň, Petr (referee)
Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) are considered as persistent organic pollutants. Their extensive use in various products leads to increase of their occurence in surface and ground water, soil, air and, generally, in the global ecosystem. In this diploma thesis, method for detection and quantification of 19 perfluorinated compounds was developed. This method was used for analysis of real drinking water and sewage sludge samples from Czech Republic. It is based on pre-extraction step and consecutive liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry, using negative chemical ionization (LC-MS). We developed a method for analysis of water samples, using solid-phase extraction (SPE). Using this method, concentrations of PFCs in 8 samples of drinking water from Czech Republic were evaluated. Total concentration of analyzed PFCs was 4 - 23 ng/L. Processing of sewage sludge samples using accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) showed matrix effect, which influenced ionization and led to false positive/negative results. For supression of the matrix compounds, we used SPE Envi-Carb columns. Using this optimised method, 23 sewage sludge samples from different locations in Czech Republic were analyzed. The most represented PFC in the environment, perfluoroctane sulfonate (PFOS), was detected in concentrations 5 - 386...
Assessment of drugs elimination in the treatment of drinking water by artificial recharge
Chupík, Jan ; Hrkal, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Eckhardt, Pavel (referee)
The Káraný waterworks supplies drinking water to approximately one third of its total consumption in Prague. It uses two main ways to produce drinking water: artificial infiltration and bank infiltration. Two-year monitoring of the content of 90 drugs and metabolites evaluates the occurrence of these substances in the Jizera River and in both production processes. The results of the monitoring point to a systematic occurrence of drugs in the Jizera River under Mladá Boleslav in concentrations ranging from tens of ng / l to hundreds of ng / l (Acesulfan and Oxypurinol). Artificial infiltration failed to remove six drugs from water (Primidon, Sulfamethaxxazole, Carbamazepine, Lamotrigine, Ibuprofen, Gabapentin, Acesulfan and Oxypurinol). Only four drugs (Ibuprofen, Caffeine, Oxypurinol and Acesulfan) were found in the results of monitoring from bank infiltration. This makes bank infiltration a more effective method of drug elimination than artificial infiltration. Keywords: drugs, drinking water, statistical analysis, monitoring
Server Monitoring
Straka, Ivan ; Čejka, Rudolf (referee) ; Dytrych, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with server monitoring, focusing on the server logs and storage devices in the form of modules into the KNOTIS information system. An administrator is warned of unusual activities or possible disk failures that may lead to data loss. It describes automatic data collection, data processing and user interface that is developed in the web environment and allows you to set different server monitoring parameters. SMART technology has been used to obtain the status of disk units. The thesis works with the use of disk arrays and LVM technology. It monitors also the most important server logs, such as auth.log, syslog, kern.log and apache's log files.
Game Server Status Monitoring Portal
Skála, Dominik ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is the development of a game server monitoring application which handles collecting and visualisation of collected data. The thesis compares and looks into existing solutions, their pros and cons. The solution is built upon this observation, specifically the design of the monitoring application and a modern web application with API access. The API is created using the Yii PHP Framework. The user interface is created using the ReactJS JavaScript library. The monitoring application itself is an independent application build in PHP. In the conclusion of the thesis, the evaluation of achieved results and the effectivity of the monitoring application is discussed. Based on the results, other implementations of monitoring applications and other extensions of web application are proposed.
Evaluation of the construction-technical state of the sewer network
Bártík, Tomáš ; Malaník,, Stanislav (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of the structural and technical condition of the selected part of the sewer network. The work is devided into two parts. The aim of the first part is the issue of designing, exploration and methodology of evaluating of sewer networks and sewer connections. In the second part of the camera records, there was carried out the classification of disorders according to the coding system ČSN EN 13508-2. Each section was subsequently rated by the technical indicators, which were evaluated for overal technical condition. The assessment has shown that one of the sections is in critical condition. It should address the measures to improve the condition of this section. For this reason, there are designed two kinds of rehabilitation.
Enterprise Server Room Infrastructure Optimalization and Monitoring
Hink, Tomáš ; TUČEK, Daniel (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the design and implementation of optimization and monitoring of the server room. Optimization consists in designing access system and server room temperature measurement, automatic infrastructure start-up and power management, server and network infrastructure optimization, server virtualization management and network monitoring.
Measuring and Control System for Heat Pump
Ščepka, Ondrej ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis describes the issue of the measuring and control system for the heat pump. In the first part of the thesis is described the principle of heat pump activity, its basic components. The second part contains the distribution of heat pumps according to the method of obtaining and transferring the heat. The following chapter contains the description of system status before the modernization. In the practical part of this thesis is the proposal and realization of new control and monitoring system including the description of individual components. In the conclusion of the thesis is a verification of the use of proposed control and monitoring system of heat pump for the measuring of its operational characteristics.
Monitoring and control of processes in biogas plants
Trubač, Daniel ; Vondra, Marek (referee) ; Máša, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of management of biogas plants. It deals with the creation of biogas and the functioning of the biogas plant. A separate part is devoted to the description of factors influencing the efficiency and stability of the fermentation process and the methods of their measurement. The final part introduces the latest technologies in the field of monitoring and control of biogas plants. The use of decision support systems in biogas plants seems to be a very promising direction for further development.
Input data for municipal waste collection routes optimization
Kulich, Marek ; Nevrlý, Vlastimír (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the systems of collection of separated waste as well as collection monitoring, which includes identification of containers, sensors and data transfer. The data is then summarized and analyzed for use in the optimization software that uses advanced ARP models. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of real data sets. On selected geographical area are determined the parameters of waste, the plan of the collection routes and their evaluation. The use of local infrastructure will be then shown by cartographic representations of the routes in the maps.
