Rehabilitation effect of Hippotherapy on bad posture of older elementary school children
KOKEŠOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of rehabilitation hippotherapy on poor posture in older school-age children. It is necessary to search already in childhood for development causes of musculoskeletal diseases when the muscular imbalance develops due to an incorrect load on the musculoskeletal system, leading to poor posture. In the recent years an enormous increase in the poor posture in children has been discussed, the increase being connected to the change of lifestyle, to an increase in obesity, largely to the lack of physical exercise and one-sidedness of modern lifestyle. Hippotherapy is a method of physiotherapy using the natural horse movement at the walk as a stimulating and physiotherapeutic element. By achieving kinetic harmony of the client and the horse, an activation of non-pathological movement programs occurs. A possible beneficial influence on change in poor posture in children before completion of growth is considered, the result of which could be the possibility of avoiding potential emergence of scoliosis in adolescence up to adulthood. This bachelor thesis has one research question and two objectives. The objectives are to map out the influence of hippotherapy on the improvement of body posture in older school-age children and to develop a specific therapeutic procedure of hippotherapy for the observed probands. The research question analyses whether and which changes occurred after the hippotherapy in the observed probands. The theoretical part consists of two sections, in the first section I deal with the issue of poor posture. Here is the emergence of the poor posture outlined. In the following part, the terms of poor posture, ideal posture, posture and deep stabilization system are defined. Last but not least I dedicate myself with poor posture diagnostics, namely with the most used methods such as the Matthias posture test. The last part is devoted to causes and prevention of poor posture. The second section deals with the hippotherapy as such, the terms of hipporehabilitation and hippotherapy are defined there. I also deal with brief history. In the next chapter the practical performance of hippotherapy is described, where I present the hippotherapeutic team, equipment, and outline the choice importance of a suitable horse for the given therapy. Other chapters include the mechanics of horse movement with the summary of all horse gaits. In the last chapter I introduce the basic positions used in hippotherapy. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis a qualitative research was used in the form of processing complete case studies of two probands attending civic association O.S. Krapet Dynín. To obtain all the necessary data, a kinesiological analysis was conducted and medical history taken. Interviews were conducted with the probands' parents because the respondents did not reach the age of majority and it could lead to a distortion of information. Furthermore, a static examination by front, rear and side aspection was performed with both probands. Other examinations which were performed include Trendelenburg-Duchenne test, Thomayer test, Matthias test, the posture standard according to Klein and Thomas and the examination of gait. It follows from the above that positive effects of rehabilitation hippotherapy were observed in probands. They both continue the therapy praising the positive effects achieved during it. The bachelor thesis can be used as educative and informational material for physiotherapy students and as a basis for further research. The purpose of the work is to raise awareness of the issue among both general and professional public.
The use of Klapp method in the physiotherapy of wrong body holding
LOJKOVÁ, Michaela
The main theme of this bachelor work is the use of Klapp method in the physiotherapy of wrong body posture. The theoretical part is mainly focused on wrong body posture, its´ consequances and the possibilites for rehabilitation. The chapter about wrong body posture also includes a sub-chapter about correct body holding. Besides that, the theoretical part is also focused on posture and deep stabilization system. Therefore the important chapter is about Klapp method. This chapter summarizes all important and relevant information from all available sources about the Klapp method. The practical part of this work is made from qualitative research in the form of detailed case reports. The research was made of three patients with wrong body posture who had problems with back pain and in one case also neck pain. The patients were comingfor a therapy almost every week for the time period of two months. The Klapp method was used almost exclusively in this therapy. The bachelor work had two goals. The first goal was to describe the Klapp method in physiotherapy. This goal was achieved in the chapter dedicated to Klapp method in the theoretical part of the work and further in the methodology part of the work where are described individual posititions of this method. The information about this method are extended by photos of individual positions from my own source which are being attached to this work. The second goal was to find out how this method can influence problems which arise in people with wrong body posture. I achieved this goal through the research part of this work. The therapy, which was used on patients and which focused mainly on Klapp method, reduced the pain in all my patients. Therefore it can be said that Klapp method positively influenced the problem of my patients. This bachelor work can be used as an educational material for physiotherapeutists and also for a broad public which would like to get a closer look on the problem with wrong body posture or with Klapp method.
Postural physiotherapy concentrated at axial stabilization of actively sporting children on a competitive level
MAŠEK, Dominik
This work is focused on the topic of stability of the axial system at actively sporting children on the competition level. In the theoretical part I write about basic knowledge about the postural system and deep stabilization system. The practical part of my thesis is processed as a qualitative research comprising input and output kinesiology analysis and input and output posturographic examination. The research took place at the Uran office at the University of South Bohemia, České Budějovice. The research sample was consisted of five actively sporting pediatric patients (two boys and three girls) aged 6 to 11 years. Three patients (two girls and a boy) do gymnastics and two patients (a girl and a boy) do the Korean martial art called Taekwondo. Therapy contained eight treatments lasting 15-20 minutes. Rehabilitation therapy included posturograph with NeuroCom Balance Manager system. Another three exercises were practiced individually at home. The aim of this work was to improve the axial stabilization using therapeutic programs and additional exercises and then subsequent evaluation of the results of these eight treatments. Here I follow the idea, that even short exercising of deep stabilizing deep system during training can lead to an overall improvement in the stabilization of the body, reducing the level of hazing superficial muscles and preventing the occurrence of clinical symptoms and complications, that are common in modern society, such as back pain, prolapsed intervertebral discs, etc. Results obtained by therapy proved that patients' axial stability and overall posture im-proved after eight therapies. This thesis may serve as a resource not only for health care workers, but also for the general public and sports coaches.
