Ethical Context of Social Business
ŠAMATOVÁ, Gabriela
The bachelor thesis deals with social business. It is described as a relatively timeless business direction that reflects the ethical foundation of society. It looks at the phenomenon of meaningful work at a deeper scale of general well-being and underlines the trend of globalization in contrast to the ever-increasing need for the community dimension of human life. It focuses on the question of motivation of entrepreneurs in the social business territory and the direction towards reflection in the level of the current "labor dialogue". I deal with the context of the value of work for a person who is in a difficult life situation. The goal of the thesis is to introduce social business as a dynamic tension going beyond the earnings to ethical values and social well-being.

KOS, Marek
The aim of this thesis is to introduce development of national company Jitka located in Jindřichův Hradec in the period of normalization; 70's to 80's of the 20th century. The thesis is divided into two key sections. The first gives a theoretical background necessary to understand social development in Czechoslovakia in given period and focuses on business in textile industry. The second section concentrates directly on Jitka Company. As the main sources of information were used financial statements, annual reports, budgets of the Company and documentation related to culture and social life of employees. I can see an important contribution in analyzing market development of Jitka Company. It was subsequently compared to situation in other textile companies in Southern Bohemia; Otavan from Treboň and branch of Partex company in Nová Bystřice. An essential part of the thesis is questionnaires completed by former employees compared to available archive documentation.
Workforce allocation in self-sufficient economy in Late Iron Age
Olševičová, K. ; Danielisová, Alžběta
We present an abstract model of workforce allocation of the Late Iron Age self-sufficient settlement. The model enables experimenting with parameters (the ratio of strong and weak workforce, the impact of bad weather, the ratio of targeted overproduction) during the harvest season with the aim to explore the agricultural bottlenecks (short periods per year when increased labour input is needed). Results of three experiments are presented. The model is extendable and is designed to be applied in archaeological research of socio-economic collapses.
Limits of Europeanisation in Turkey: The Potential Relation between Economic Policy and Foreign Policy towards the EU
Blažek, Ondřej ; Weiss, Tomáš (advisor) ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the Europeanisation of the third states and its limits. The thesis is a one-case study focusing on Turkey and Europeanisation of its foreign policy. Foreign Policy Analysis has been chosen as the research method. The method focuses on economic relations between Turkey and the EU and other subjects and searches for potential correlation with foreign policy making process. At first, the thesis researches the historical context of the relations of the EU and Turkey, describes the governing party AKP and analyses the changes in foreign policy. Economic relations are presented by Turkish exports and imports and inward and outward foreign direct investments. At the beginning of its government, the AKP party put a lot of effort to Europeanisation of the country in matter of reforms which brought better legislation and increase of FDI, but also mutual trade with the EU. During the years, fluctuations in mutual relations appeared but these did not have any significant influence on the political relations. As well as deterioration in political relations did not influence mutual trade. The EU is still the most important trade partner of Turkey despite the fluctuations. If a turn away the EU should have come, the motives would come most probably from internal politics...
Economic Policy in the US in the Era of Ronald Reagan and its Impact
Horníková, Anna ; Pondělíček, Jiří (advisor) ; Sehnálková, Jana (referee)
The thesis, as suggested by its name Economic Policy in the U.S. in the era of Ronald Reagan and Its Impact, has as its primary goal the assessment of economic policy under president Ronald Reagan in the 1980s. During his two presidential terms, Reagan managed to completely alter the contemporary Keynesian approach to the economy, when he shifted the trend back to individual responsibility and free market. The thesis's mission is to prove that the so-called Reaganomics resulted in partial economic success in spheres such as lowering inflation and GDP growth, while, on the other hand, having negative impact in the sphere of the federal budget. The first chapter includes the introduction to Reagan's revolutionary economic ideology, particularly to the supply-side theory. The following chapter then examines the character and execution of individual reforms, so that the last chapter can successfully analyze its impact based on macroeconomic indicators.
The European Union and the adoption of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with Kosovo: the role of material interests and shared ideas
Procházka, Karel ; Karlas, Jan (advisor) ; Kučerová, Irah (referee)
The thesis seeks to examine the underlying motivations behind the conclusion of the Stability and Association Agreement between European Union and Kosovo on the 27th of October 2015. To determine the role of material interests and shared ideas in the process of concluding the SAA the thesis discusses and applies rationalism and constructivism, both grand theories of international relations. To test the theories and their respective hypotheses identifying the role of the relevant concepts, the research employs a single case study method, using a congruence analysis approach. In conclusion, through the rationalist lens within the perspective of the EU, the thesis confirms the existence of material interest in the conclusion of the SAA, representing security, power and economic gains. To complement the analysis via a constructivist lens within the perspective of Kosovo, the thesis solely implies a limited role of identity and norms while it points out that such constructivist concepts rather impeded the reaching of the SAA, veiling the actual role of material interest.
