LOCA Energy Performance Study for Simulation of Heavy Accident at NPP
Zemčíková, Kristína ; Andrle,, Karel (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis studies the energy performance of the LOCA device used for the simulation of accidents at nuclear power plants, which can be found at the CV Řež research centre. LOCA stands for Loss of Coolant Accident, which is kind of serious accident that may occur at NPPs. During the accident, the coolant is assumed to be leaking due to a fissure in one of the main pipes. The unique LOCA device at the research centre simulates this accident and is used for testing important components utilised at nuclear power plants. This thesis describes the LOCA device and attempts to determine its energy consumption over the course of a 10-day experiment. By leveraging the consumption curve of the research centre, possible operational optimisations applicable to this LOCA device technology will be proposed.
Meat production and husbandary in developing and developed countries and its environmental impacts
Šenfeldová, Štěpánka ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Matějíček, Luboš (referee)
Although animal husbandry is vitally important to most of us, it's impacts on nature are alarming. In this work I deal with the environmental impacts of keeping farm animals, in particular in the area of their impact on global climate change, soil contamination and pollution, atmospheric emissions, water management and the impact of animal husbandry on biodiversity. I also ask whether the impacts of animal husbandry differ in developed and developing regions of the world and look at future trends in animal husbandry. Meat consumption is rising significantly in developing countries, whereas in developed countries its production is, if anything, stagnant. The means of production differ fundamentally. The predominant form of production in the developed countries is intensive, which is primarily characterised by high concentration of the kept animals in halls and large production of manure, increased utility of animals and associated reduction in their numbers. The predominant form of production in developing countries is extensive, which is associated with increasing the numbers of animals, in particular by grazing. Keeping animals outside on pasture has a negative impacts on natural stands and the erosion process. A global reduction in meat consumption and the utilisation of new alternative...
Tool management and process optimalization with the aim of the cost reduction
Košútová, Katarína ; Holubčík, Pavol (referee) ; Strejček, Jan (advisor)
Diploma thesis is analyses and optimizes downtimes in production of brake discs, to find causes of downtimes, quantifying the cost of downtimes and also proposing solutions. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first is the theoretical basis, which is the basis for the following two parts of the thesis, namely the analysis of the current state and technical-economic evaluation.
Experimental Stand for Determination of Turbocharger Lubricant Consumption
Kuhajdik, Matej ; Doman, Jozef (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
This work solves the problem of lubricant consumption in the turbocharger and air blow–by from the compressor part of the turbocharger into the bearing housing. The chosen problem is solved by the design of the test mechanism that will be used in the technical experiment. The experiment provides analysis options for the GT35 turbocharger rotor seal. Part of the work is a complete drawing documentation of the test equipment, installation procedure and instructions for operating the equipment.
Home photovoltaic power plant
Brázda, Kryštof ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is focused on evaluation of operational parameters and economic return of photovoltaic power plant installation on chosen family house. In thesis there is elaborated a detailed overview of energy consumption of selected house. The photovoltaic power plant is designed for the selected object. Two possible variants of the system solution with regard to the use of accumulation, sale of surplus electric energy management and procurement priorities.
Základní trendy ve vývoji spotřeby domácností ČR v období 1990 až 2017
KOPÁČKOVÁ, Pavlína
The topic of this bachelor thesis are the basic trends in the development of household consumption in the Czech Republic between 1990 and 2017. The goal of this thesis is the basic assessment of trends in household consumption in the Czech Republic, both in size and structure. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the effects and aspects of household consumption, both directly and indirectly. The thesis also dives into the issue of decresasing savings and debts, that Czech households have. At the end of the thesis, the overall context of economic-social development and trend analysis in the Czech Republic is discussed. The data were used from the statistical systems of the CZSO, the MLSA and the CNB.
Beer in Czech society in 2018
Vinopal, Jiří
In September 2018 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR replicated some of the questions about beer, which constitute a part of research project Pubs and Beer in Czech Society that is under way since 2004. This press release maps basic trends about the share of consumers among Czech citizens and about both amount and frequency of beer consumption from 2004 to 2018. Attitudes of the public to the Czech world primacy in beer consumption are mentioned as well.
Fashion as a Differend
Schambergerová, Lucie ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Charvát, Martin (referee)
The work called Fashion as a Differend presents the demands of critics of fashion and shows that they are in decomposition with its definition as defined by J. - F. Lyotard in the context of a postmodern condition. It argues that discourse overriding the demands of fashion critics is asymetrical with discourse within which fashion is defined. It turns out that there is a logical paradox with regard to the essence of fashion, which is transience or rapid change (at least as fast a change in society) and the floating demand for slowing down, stability and other criticisms that are linked to its transformation.
