Main content of the study was reconstruction of the former public prosecutor's office in Brno for the purposes Janáček´s Academy of Music and performing. It was appropiate to eliminate the consequences of the reconstruction of the 1970´s, which did not take into account of the building sufficient. The building's function has emerged from the thesis assignment. In my design, I have decided to work with all three of the required functions, namely: the café, the rectorate and the stage design institute of JAMU. The café and the gallery on the ground floor communicates with the people in the city and it is the meeting point for students, teachres and visitors. The Rectorate should serve as a set of offices, but it will also represent the university. Žáková, Michaela ; Kaštánková, Jana (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The Master´s Thesis showcases a proposal of housing in the centre of the city. The proposal is located near the historical centre of the city Brno. The thesis is mostly done as a urban study and partly in a detail of a architectural study. It includes wider analysis of the current state plus the new proposal, street design and city block detail. In this proposal I think about the need of a green space in the city. In my thesis you are being introduced to few unordinary houses. They are not traditional in a term of city block houses, because they are solitaires. Those forms bring new possibilities for green space in the city and inhabitant´s satisfaction.

Schneiderová, Petra ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis was the elaboration of an architectural study of the renovation and completion of the Secondary school Gemini in Brno on Vaculíkova street. The assignment was the completion of the school and the emergence of new accommodation, restaurant and services. This object is situated in Brno - Lesná. It is a relatively sloping land. The basis of the design was the completion of one school floor and the completion of a new w connected to the existing building. The original school was built parallel to the contour lines, while the completion of the new part of the object is perpendicular to the contour lines. This will create an optically enclosed garden space from Vaculíkova Street. The school's garden remains open to the park towards the Devil's Gorge. On the west side a new building with a restaurant and services is built, which is connected with the original school by a connecting neck. The basis of the design was the completion of one school floor and the completion of a new wing connected to the existing building. New South District and its Connection to Svratka
Musilová, Michaela ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Sedláček, Michal (advisor)
Architectual study deals with the design of an apartment building in the new south district in Brno – area the south from the existing main station. Living close to the Svratka river and concurrently near historic centre are the greatest potentials of the territory. Another similar place does not exist anywhere in Brno. The project follows plans of building a new main station of the city. This includes extensive transport infrastructure. The new district is connected to the Brno boulevard and also to „highline“ park on the historic viaduct. The area was not built till today, although it is really attractive and unusual place in the city. The main reason is flood area located here. Nowadays a city administration is preparing a new zoning plan, which suggests many flood control measures. In my thesis I am interested in one block of buildings from the new district, which is situated close to the river. One of these apartment buildings is designed in more detail. This is the coner object located near the square. The house is composed of eight floors – two underground and six upper floors. Garages are located underground. Entrance area for residents, technical background and some home-office units are planed on the first storey. The part of the first floor is rentable – coner space for cafe or bar. Upper floors have only resident function. Varied flats are two-rooms to five-rooms. A part of proposal is also outdoor spaces. They are very significant for really beautiful views to the waterfront, the river and adjancent park. All housing units have loggia, balcony or terrace. Home-office units on the first floor are completed with private gadens in the courtyard. Roof apartments are favored for theirs private roof gardens. But a part of roof green terraces is available for all residents of the house.
Sports and Relaxation Centre Vsetín, Ohrada
Kuklínková, Klára ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
Diploma thesis of was preceded by a specialized studio focused on the development of urban-architectural design in the area of "Vsetín - Ohrada". The newly created objects have the a task of transform the whole territory, which nowadays deteriorate. The solved area is separated by the highest industrial zone from the edge of the city and after the connection to the urban area. The whole sports complex is conceived as an independent urban complex, mainly linked to the surrounding nature. These are cycle paths that are designed for the entire area. The center is designed for the needs of the population of Vsetín and its catchment areas. Sports, recreational options for all ages. The grassy wall divides the river from the city and reflects the calm zone by the river, and at the same time divides large flat areas. In addition to sports, the area offers wellness, gastro and meeting places. The advantage of this place is cycling trail parallel to the beautiful nature. Moreover, the grassy wall is used to hide service roads and parking spaces. This ensures excellent transport accessibility and supply, but does not interfere with the sports complex. Wall created from excavations of single buildings and demolition works of the original stadium will achieve a safe transition from one sports ground to another, creating a natural observation post and incorporating buildings and sports facilities to become part of the wall and form a single unit. By embedding buildings in the wall, the buildings visually diminish. The embedded sports ground is bounded on two sides by a rampart and the third by a staircase. It can be used as a grandstand, or to enter the ridge of the dike. This minimizes the need for unsightly fencing on each pitch. With the new concept we will meet the requirements of visitors in the given locality and, above all, the attractiveness of the whole area will be increased.
New synagogue in Opava
Gášek, Daniel ; Velek, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor)
The aim of the thesis was to create an architectural study of the new synagogue in Opava. Similarly to many other towns and cities, the former synagogue was burned during Kristallnacht, the ruins were completely demolished and taken away. Nowadays there are no buildings on the site, except the former Rabbi’s house. Basic idea was in preserving the park character of the site by insertion of a non-arrogant low cuboid volume in the neighbourhood of apartment buildings from the first half of the 20th century. Designed form benefits from the character of the site while humbly avoiding construction on the actual place where the burnt synagogue stood. This creates an elegant, low object, whose two dominant ceiling slabs are filled with glass in between so it preserves a part of the park’s existing transparency and let the interior freely connect with exterior, also thanks to large sliding windows. In the center of the block is situated three sides closed atrium, which surrounds the new synagogue, into whose interior delicate scattered sunlight penetrates through the translucent onyx stone walls.
