Lechnerová, Galina ; Slavíková, Lenka (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
This work focuses on the question of water as a public good and presents three significant approaches of environmental good treatment (considering water). Those are the environmental policy of a state, market approach and decentralized resource regimes. After that it focuses on the water policy in the Czech Republic and on the temporary Water Framework Directive implementation process. It compares the intended impacts with real effects of the implementation of directive. The comparison is made in three institutional areas -- competent authority, public participation and price policy in management of water. Economic performance of the EU vis-a-vis the USA
Marek, Lukáš ; Urban, Luděk (advisor) ; Svačinová, Tereza (referee)
Diploma thesis "Economic performance of the EU vis-à-vis the USA" deals with the issue of EU economic underperformance vis-à-vis the US economic efficiency. This negative trend can be observed since the early 70's. The analysis is based on the assumption that the economic gab between both economies rests on structural grounds. This paper focuses on two areas, which are important for economic growth in the EU. Firstly, it is the economic competition in the Common market. This theme is directly related to the process of European economic integration. The analysis indicates that good market accessibility for competitors stimulates productivity growth in the respective industry. However, firms in the Common market have to face higher barriers to entry and exit than their counterparts in the US. The second field of study deals with research and development in the member states. Present endogenous growth theories assume that technological progress is a crucial factor of long-term economic growth. European Common market should therefore create conditions favourable to business funded R&D so that more and better innovations can be introduced in Europe. However, the analysis indicates that the economic gab between the EU and the US takes place not just due to underdeveloped ICT and biotechnology sector. A great deal...

The knowledge and atttitude of mothers to vaccination in Czech Republic in the multiresources system
Myrdacz, Martin ; Vlček, Jiří (advisor) ; Beran, Jiří (referee)
The childhood vaccination in the Czech Republic represents a very complex area. While the current legislation defines which children vaccinations belong under mandatory, fully reimbursed National Immunisation Program (NIP), there are also possibilities to undergo vaccination as a result of own decision. The role of the State as the only guarantee and payer of children vaccination has been, due to registration of next vaccines, extended by subjects who use opportunity to vaccinate against additional infections diseases and consequently pay for it. Nowadays, financially, non-reimbursed vaccination doubles NIP vaccination reimbursed by the state. Almost 350 million CZK was spent in 2008 on vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV). That represents the most paid non-mandatory vaccination. National-wide Research amongst mothers of children up to five years of age performed in 2008 showed high confidence in the benefit of vaccination when only 4% of the mothers are in contradiction with this statement. Nevertheless, the research also unveiled need for more information as 28 % of the mothers think that children are receiving more vaccination than is good for them. More than 50% of them would also welcome a next vaccination to be added into the current NIP system. Such evolution is likely to happen in...

Domestic violence and its prevention
Minaříková, Lenka ; Zapletal, Josef (advisor) ; Vanduchová, Marie (referee)
CONCLUSION The family violence is a problem which figure in the centre of the attention in our society. The family violence isn't in its substance only social or political problem, it's a suffering which individual people spend, people who don't deserved to live in a shame, in a pain or in a humbleness. Each woman or man who spent the domestic violence, are the individuals with the individual needs and not only the faces without names from the statistics. The good news is that the solutions are accessible and each individual with help and with a dose of courage will find his or her own way how to deprive of the violence. All depends on the victim who must realize that if she or he doesn't leave from the offender, nothing will be changed and his or her life won't be saved. Very important and necessary step is disproving the myths and the prejudices about domestic violence in the society. The public must realize that this action needs the regular check and the intervention from the state or the public authorities although domestic violence takes place in a privacy, at home. The big role play here the adult education and the educational and pedagogical programmes which are organised by the governments or nongovernmental organisations. Very positive thing is that the domestic violence and generally women or...

Accessibility and Impact of its Changes in Czechia during the Transformation Period: Relation to Settlement System
Hudeček, Tomáš
-,.r ruaus. Selecteil resulls In compliance with the majority of foreign studies, thc research pointed out that lower hierarchical level means smaller impact of accessibility and its changes. e.g. the case study of Prague. New infiastructure hacl the biggest irnpact on the national level. 'l'[re impact on the interregional level was smaller and on the rnicro-regional level was hardly noticeable. It has also been provcd that irnpact of new infrastructure does not show immediately but with delay. This can bc seen primarily in tl're ce ntres connected to the D | , D5 and D8 lrighways wlriclr started operating at various tirnes bcťore 200 | . Thc situation presurnecl on the basis of the gravitational ntodel thus acquires an element of imbalance in the fbrrn of new or reccnt i n frastrttctttre. Variance of irnpact of changes which accessibility of interregional centres has on their irnportance was proved using the dominancc irrdicator. Good tranSport accessibility oť a hierarchically superior centre leads to its higher dominance within its background. Horvever, good accessibility is not perceived absolutely. It is a relative concept. ČeskéBudějovice and Zlín are quite isolated centres. [t has been proved that in order to strengthen their impact in their subordinate region it is il essential that the influence of...

In this small area there are many structures such as bones, tendons, muscles, veins and nerves. Their compatibility makes the band function. Bach trauma can have a very serious effect. Aims/Goals: The human band is one ofthe most complicated parts ofthe body and is also one ofthe most important. Quality oflife is seriously affected by its malfunction. After a tendon injury, surgery and good aftercare are necessary for the hand to function correctly. The aim ofthis thesis is to present a comprehensive view ofhand injuries and the different opportunities ofaftercare rehabilitation in the zones 1 and 2. Also to evaluate the effectiveness ofthe rehabilitation protocols on patients 1, 2 and 3. Analysis/solutions: My conclusions were drawn from a step by step critical analysis of the treatment schedules from injury through to rehabilitation ofpatients 1, 2 and 3, as well as a modified version ofTAM (total active motion).
