The protection of users of institution for dangerous children and youth against prejudices and negative rating
POSTLOVÁ, Erika
Thesis concerns with the point of protection of those using institutions for dangerous youth against prejudices and negative rating. The protection against prejudices and negative rating is one of the criterions of quality standards of social services in the Czech Republic but also a criterion of the quality measure rating at the same time. This criterion will be probably removed from the czech legislation, therefore the thesis focused on consequences of this change. The first chapter is applied to the protection against prejudices and negative rating from the point of view of the czech legislation. It also describes issue of prejudices and negative rating from the point of view of various scientific disciplines which corncerning with this subject. The second chapter provides a comprehensive overview of activities of institutions for dangerous youth in the Czech Republic. The third chapter reflects request for the protection of those using institutios for dangerous youth against prejudices and negative rating in those institutions. On the basis of this reflection, the point of the mentioned request is set from the point of view of ethics and legal system. Practical issues and factor, entering into this field, are took into consideration in that part too. The protection against prejudices and negative rating is ethically substantiated, but it isn't a good tool for the quality rating of the service, because on its basis, it isn't possible to judge if the service quality is fulfilled or not. The design of the request is in breach of two sections of law about social services. The protection against prejudices and negative rating is closely connected with othe documents concerning with the human rights which have to be fulfilled by the institutions for dangerous youth. It follows that if the request will be removed from the social services standards, it won't disappear completely. The protection against prejudices and negative rating would remain in the awareness of the institution staff, but it is misleading to judge service quality on the basis of the protection.

Berka, Kryštof ; Procházka, Pavel (advisor) ; Dyba, Karel (referee)
The aim of the bachelor's thesis is economic development assessment among and within BRICs countries in the context of developed world during 2007-2015. Based on yearly panel data, an analysis for following macroeconomic indicators was carried out: gross domestic product, inflation rate, unemployment rate, current account on the balance of payments, exchange rate. The profound analysis of selected indicators is instrumental in the comparison of member states and is supplemented by the comparison of BRICs and G6. Based on its evidence, I come to a conclusion that the BRICs as a whole succeeded in establishing as a strong global actor. That has been achieved with the help of global financial crisis, but also with regard to the economic policy implemented in 2007-2015. As a result, GDP of BRICs in terms of GDP of G6 achieved stable growth rate leading to its increase by 52 %. Besides providing main findings, outcomes of this thesis enable to identify main weaknesses and strengths of BRICs economies affecting the prospects for continuance of stable economic growth.

Fundamental analysis of a share of Pegas Nonwovens
Pečonka, David ; Veselá, Jitka (advisor) ; Derner, Tomáš (referee)
The topic of my bachelor thesis is the fundamental analysis of a share of Pegas Nonwovens company. It consists of three parts: the first (global) part examines how major macroeconomic variables (interest rate, inflation, money supply, GDP) influence share prices. The second chapter describes characteristic factors of nonwovens industry which may also affect analyzed share. It's for example cyclicality of the business cycle or competitive environment. At the third, lowest level the corporate fundamentals are introduced. Using various models, I calculate the intrinsic value and in comparison with the market price I determine the valuation of shares. The aim should be the formulation of investment recommendation to buy or sell Pegas shares.

Differences between men and women in the Czech labour market
Stroukal, Dominik ; Kadeřábková, Božena (advisor) ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Němec, Otakar (referee)
This thesis consists of five articles that apply current world research on labor economics at the Czech Republic and confirms the significant differences between men and women in this market. It shows that gender has a significant influence on the preference on the labor market and, consequently, on employment and health. First, the thesis shows that preferences are relevant determinant of career and then we study the difference in preference of salary for men and women. Subsequently it shows that gender plays a significant role in explaining the relationship between homeownership, and unemployment, as well as unemployment and health. The first chapter was able to demonstrate that the preference for a career has a positive influence on the choice of career. The influence of higher education on prioritizing career proved to be positive and significant. Probability of a career choice is reduced by the presence of children, however, is not dependent on their number, which is contrary to the theory of preferences. The second chapter shows that Czech women prefer more non-monetary rewards than men. It has also been shown that people with university education are same in the preferences of non-monetary rewards regardless of the gender of the respondents, however, compared to the world's research, the Czech higher education increases this preference. It turned out that women prefer risk less than men. The third chapter demonstrates that although the housing market undermines labor mobility and employment in the Czech Republic at the regional level, therefore, that in regions with a higher rate of home ownership is higher unemployment, at the individual level, the owners of housing are unemployed are less likely. The estimates are significantly different for men and women. Men living in owner-occupied housing have a higher likelihood of employment than women. At regional level, however, this thesis shows that the high rate of home ownership increases unemployment for both men and women, in the long run only to women. The fourth chapter showed that men transition to homeownership reduces the likelihood of unemployment next year. For women, this relationship has proved to be insignificant. In addition, as insignificant showed the opposite relationship, the transition from unemployment to the newly acquired home ownership. The last chapter shows that the change in the working status to unemployment will increase in the future probability of worse health. Influence in less than two years, however, proved to be significant. An important conclusion is that men have a significantly stronger relationship between health and unemployment than women.

Contacts betweeen family and school on elementary school
Lívancová, Šárka ; Hadj - Moussová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
Diploma thesis discusses the communication between family and teachers, especially the specific aspects of this interaction considering small schools. The communication between parents and teachers is one of the important parts of coordination of parents and school. Communication can be divided into direct, represented by f a c e - t o - f a ce contact between parents and teachers, and indirect, which comprise telephone conversation and other messages delivered by the pupils. This t h e s i s focuses on the direct type of communication. It aims to describe s p e c i f i c forms of direct communication in context of s p e c i f i c traits of r e l a t ed environment. We assume, that the village environment, which is common for small schools, doesn't suffer of anonymity of large cities, and that people in this environment generally have closer contacts with each other. Small schools are schools for 6 to 11 years old, o f f e r i n g only the primary level of education, for which the higher rate of p a r e n t - t e a c h e r i n t e r a c t i o n is typical. In these small schools, the primary education has the p o s s i b i l i t y to preserve i t ' s autonomy, and it i s n ' t influenced by the secondary level education, which appears to be dominant, when the both levels are combined. Last but not least...

Analysis of the determinants of unemployment in the Czech Republic, focusing on the influence of characteristics of the region
Čechová, Gabriela ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis deals with the analysis of equilibrium and disequilibrium factors that have impact on the unemployment rates in the regions of the Czech Republic. Panel data from the 1993 to 20012 period were used in the analysis. One of the main factors of the differences in the unemployment rate between the regions is the proportion of people aged from 15 to 29 years in the population. The increase of one percentage point in this ratio causes an increase in the unemployment rate in the respective region of 2.5 %. Another important factor that was revealed in the analysis was the proportion of high school graduates among the population. With the increase of one percentage point in this factor, the unemployment rate falls by 7.3 %. The regions were divided into two groups based on their unemployment rate for the purpose of an extended model. The results suggest that the unemployment rate in the regions with higher unemployment rates is more influenced by the sectoral composition of the economy than in those with lower unemployment rates. In these regions it is the regional amenities that play the key role.

Unemployment in eyes of public
Horáková, Naděžda
CVVM regularly make a survey about unemployment. Respondents answer a question:what are main causes of unemployment and whether unemployment rate is high a they also talk about future development of unemployment in next two years. Next part of questions is focused on respondent´s job situation and what would he do if he lost his job.

Arctic tundra dendrochronology
Lehejček, Jiří ; Svoboda, Miroslav (advisor) ; Monika, Monika (referee)
Historically unprecedented environmental change in the Arctic ecosystems is often given into the context of its past and possible future development. In the region where instrumental meteorological observations are scarce archives need to be investigated in order to address this issues. The comprehensive synthesis one of the archives: long-live circumpolar evergreen Juniperus communis L. shrub is presented here. 20 individuals from southwest Greenland were investigated at the cell anatomy level to understand the ecology of the species and unhide its potential for environmental and climate reconstructions. The findings are as follows: i) Stop of exponential cross-sectional conduit-lumen widening with increasing age is in contrast with conduit-lumen nature of trees. This indicates that shrubs do not need to saturate their water and nutrient demands via traits of classical hydraulic conductivity law but rather developed different mechanisms. Extreme weather conditions result in prostrate growth form. However, different weather factors probably influence shrub growth differently: While snow and wind act mechanically (a), temperature influences the form of growth physiologically (b). a) So long as the young shrub stem has high resilience to bend back to an upright position after snow melt and so long as it can withstand the wind during the vegetation season it most likely grows upright and the conduit-lumens widen. b) Temperature, resp. freeze-thaw events are responsible for the shrubs preference of safety (finite size of conduit-lumens) over hydraulic efficiency, thus not allowing for more primary growth. All of these (and other) factors are apparently working together and the transition of vertical to more horizontal growth is gradual. As a consequence, the conduit-lumen sizes may not have to be further increased (due to ecophysiological restrictions possibly also must not) because water is no longer transported against gravity. ii) Observed age/growth trend has to be taken into consideration for further employment of the wood anatomical parameter in paleoenvironmental studies. That is, shrub cell parameters can only be used for this purposes if correctly detrended. This allows for more accurate as well as longer reconstructions because youth trend was often neglected in reconstructions based on shrub annual-rings. iii) The south-western Greenland Ice-Sheet (GrIS) melt rates reconstruction is presented for the whole 20th century. This part of GrIS is considered as the most active. According to the presented reconstruction current GrIS melt rates are not uncommon for the last century being comparable to first decades of 20th century. This finding is particularly important contribution to the debate on Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC). Too high fresh water inputs into the Northern Atlantic from GrIS melting may slow down or even stop the AMOC which would result in more continental climate in Europe. Presented results indicate that this threshold lies higher than observed current melt rates of GrIS. Fascinating Juniperus comunnis species has shown to be able to address many ecological as well as environmental open questions and due to its longevity and abundant distribution has a great potential to become an important player in the Arctic research.

The mortality of cardiovascular diseases in the Czech Republic and selected EU countries
Křížová, Jana ; Langhamrová, Jitka (advisor) ; Pechholdová, Markéta (referee)
This thesis deals with the problems of cardiovascular diseases in Czech Republic and selected EU countries. Over the long term mortality in the Czech Republic there are changes in mortality rates. Largest fluctuations in the intensity of mortality were caused just cardiovascular diseases. These changes can be explained by the greater part of the changing economic and social factors, eating habits and decrease levels of some risk factors. On overall cardiovascular mortality in the long term the most involved two groups of diseases, ischemic heart diseases and cerebrovascular diseases. In international comparisons, the differences in the development of cardiovascular mortality between developed countries and the former socialist countries considerable.
