Public Opinion on International Organizations

In February 2010 Public Opinion Research Centre studied trust of the Czech population in the selected international organizations - the European Union, NATO and the United Nations. Another question was focused on satisfaction with membership in these institutions.

Organization of the protest action against Hus's burning at the stake

Based on a prosopographical analysis, the study attempts to capture the organizational context of the origin of the protest letter against Hus's burning at the stake from 2 September 1415. One of the main conclusions is that the majority of the signatories from the ranks of the lower nobility added their seals to the protest action rather from loyalty to their powerful neighbours than expressing their own confessional position.

Association of Idependent Theatres of the Czech Republic – Analysis and Description of the Current State

The thesis is focused on newly established Association of Independent Theaters of the Czech Republic, officially using the abbreviation AND ČR. The aim of the thesis is to describe formation of the association, its current state, future plans and its functioning. The first part examines the term “independent professional theater” and briefly characterizes selected organizations from the Czech Republic and Europe with the potential to meet with the AND ČR in the cultural area in future. In the following parts were researched needs of independent professional scene in Prague and was described the needs analysis for the field of “independent” theater from the year 2013. The thesis describes the development of AND ČR, its activities up to current stage, organizational structure and future short-term plans. In the final part of the thesis, there is defined the management system of the association and established its possible improvements so the AND ČR would become the leading organization representing independent professional theaters in the Czech Republic.

The Wine Market in the Czech Republic and the Politics of Wine

The dissertation thesis is focusing on the wine market in the Czech Republic. The aim is to identify weaknesses in the wine sector in order to formulate recommendations for improving a current situation in the sector. The Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union and the Common Market Organisation for Wine was presented in the theoretical part of the thesis, where also theoretical aspects of a market including supply and demand were described, as well as an agri-food market and its specifics, wine commodity chain, determinants of demand, supply and prices of wine. In the following chapters an analysis of the wine market, especially with emphasis on the production potential of vineyards in the Czech Republic was created, and demand, supply and price of wine including a price transmission in the commodity chain of wine were modelled based on a regression analysis. The significant influence on demand of wine have had previous values of wine consumption and wine prices, substitutes consumptions (prices of substitutes were not a significant factors), household income and salary, a quality of the wine and awards in international competitions. Significant factors of the side of supply including the price of wine grapes, the price of wine, vineyard area, production of wine grapes, some aspects of weather and certain subsidies. A climate change, which is in progress, may result to the expansion of viticulture and winemaking in the Czech Republic and also to a change of varieties in vineyards. Demand has in the commodity chain of wine greater impact than the supply. It can have a negative effect on growers or winemakers. Planting of vines is not sufficient to maintain current levels of a production potential of vineyards in the Czech Republic. The ideal amount of annual planting vines should be about 655 ha. A related issue is financing a vineyards renewal, which is costly. Based on a financial analysis of small and medium-sized wine companies, it was found that these businesses cannot afford the renewal of vineyards from its own resources and will require grant assistance of the state, eventually EU.

Právní a zdravotně sociální aspekty činnosti OSPOD jako ustanovených opatrovníků v zámu nezletilých dětí

The Czech Republic as a signatory of the Convention on the Rights of the Child has vested the practice of state administration in the field of care for minor children to municipalities with extended powers, where the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of minor children is safeguarded by state authorities of social and legal protection of children (ASLPC hereinafter). These authorities are incorporated to the extent laid down by the Act on Social and Legal Protection of Children (Act No 359/1999 Coll., as amended). The position and roles of ASLPC and their competence and jurisdiction are also regulated by the same act. The position of workers of these authorities and its legal embodiment is equally important. Regarding professionality, there are high demands on these workers. In the Czech Republic, significant changes in legislature have been made over the past three years. These amendments have led to the strengthening of the rights of minor children and to the establishing of new tools for their protection. In connection with the adoption of new substantive regulation of family law, which is now exhaustively dealt with by the Act No 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, new procedural rules have been established regarding protection of rights of minor children. Such procedural legislation includes (apart from the long-existent Act No. 99/1963, the Code of Civil Procedure) the Act No 292/2013 Coll., on Special Civil Proceedings. The decision-making regarding minor children has been vested mainly by the state into the competence of courts. The courts appoint the locally relevant ASLPC as a guardian who then represents the interests of minor children. The purpose, interwoven with and derived from the first one, was to explore the opinions of selected social workers of ASLPC and of district court judges regarding the defined problems occurring during the work of ASLPCs and courts while protecting the interests of minor children. These particularly include: the use of the tool of precautionary measure; problems of different territorial jurisdiction of courts and ASLPCs; processing of complaints regarding bias in various phases of the proceedings; professional training of workers of ASLPC It is evident from the proposals of both judges and ASLPC workers that it is necessary to unify territorial jurisdiction. The courts are suggesting the priority criterion of the address where the child mainly resides. ASLPC workers suggest the official permanent residence as the prime criterion. Bias causes problems in all phases of proceedings. It is obvious that courts take differing approaches towards the solution of this problem (some courts solve the problem of bias complaints filed by the parties while other courts do not) and for ASLPC workers it is difficult to assess how to act when such complaint is raised against them. The training of ASLPC workers - workers are obliged to educate themselves and their employer is obliged to finance such training. Not all ASLPCs are able to provide training in the required extent - due to financial reasons (the average costs of education of one employee pose from 9,169 to 13,400 CZK annually and they cover approximately 6 days of training). The heavy work-load caused by insufficient numbers of ASLPC employees prevents them from completing such compulsory training. As part of the examination of the "participation of a collision guardian in court proceedings" it has been found out that irregular participation of the worker in the proceedings (absence from participation in appeals proceedings); incomplete reports (directed to courts) from surveys in families. Based on comprehensive examination of the problems of territorial jurisdiction, it was recommended that requests are independently recorded and financial compensation is provided for ASLPCs who are requested to represent minors in front of courts, to draft proposals for precautionary measures.

Charity Projects of Organizations Providing Care for Children with Disabilities in South Bohemia

The bachelor thesis "Charity Projects of Organisations Providing Care for Children with Health Disability in the Region of South Bohemia" deals with those projects that were founded by non-profit organisations and that provide care for children with health disability in the Region of South Bohemia. The aim of this thesis is to chart the charity projects of above mentioned organisations and to find out what is a proper and effective way to create them and what methods and procedures are used by non-state, non-profit organisations. The first research inquiry refers to a successful implementation of these projects. The result will be not only a realisation what kind of projetcs were created by the above mentioned organisations but also what is important for an organisation itself. Within the bounds of the second research inquiry I find out wheather there is an optimal procedure for the implementation of the charity projects of non-state, non-profit organisations. A qualitative method was used for a research part of this thesis. I used a method of a half-structured interview, a technique of a personal interview. A research group was selected for bringing the research into practice, which includes nine organisations seleceted from non-state, non-profit organisations providing a care for health disabled children in the Region of South Bohemia. It is more difficult for non-state, non-profit organisations it this field to obtain enough finances for providing services and for obtaining necessary aids than for state non-profit organisations because of different ways of fundraising . A non-state, non-profit organisation has several possibilities how to obtain necessary material and non-material sources. There are charity projects that offer means of selfless help; provided they are successful, they help the organisation to obtain necessary sources. It emerged from the research that it was very important for non-state, non-profit organisations to get a multi-source fundraising and supporters of their projects, mainly donors and sponsors, to obtain available care for children with heath disability. On the basis of the research, it is possible to state that non-state, non-profit organisations providing care for children with health disability, implemented many successful projects. The results of this thesis can be used in the way of an informative material for setting a complete view of a solution of the problems of the above mentioned organisations projects.

Marketing comunication

The thesis deals with marketing communications of a non-governmental,
non-profit organization NaZemi, which contributes to the development of Fair Trade
in the Czech republic. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part.
In the theoretical part is defined marketing, marketing mix, and various tools
of marketing communications, which includes advertising, sales promotion, public relations, personal selling, direct marketing, events and experiences.
Part of the theoretical part is characteristic of marketing research, modern trends
in marketing communications and outline of the concept of Fair Trade.
In the practical part is introduced the organization NaZemi with its tools
of marketing communication. Based on the survey findings are formulated proposals, leading to possible improvements in marketing communications. In the end there
is deeply descibed one proposal in detail of a particular campaingn.

Management of Education of Employees in Organisation

This diploma thesis is focused on the management of educational process in a particular organization. Knowledge, skills and abilities of employees are often the only source of company's competative advantage. Therefore, the issue of employees' education is becoming the key topic of company's management. The main goal of this work is to identify and evaluate the educational system in the settings of the DIAMO organization, a state owned company, its subsidiary plant of Mining and Refining, and in case of finding of possible problems to suggest the appropriate measures and changes in the educational process. This is achieved by the analysis of the company's internal documents, quantitative survey plus qualitative research performed in the form of interviews with the managers. The result of this procedure is the finding of existence of the systematic, repetative and effective educational process, whereas the eployees' attitude is predominantly positive. On the other hand, weeknesses are seen in the absence of some thematic areas of education, in some employees, who consider further education unnecessary, and in the fact that the key empoyees reach retirement age, and with their departure the company loses valuable skills and know-how. On the basis of these findings there has been suggested regular professional excursions for employees, improvement of internal motivation of employees to education via the individual approach of managers towards each worker, and securing the continuing of know-how by sharing the knowledge among the different groups of employees.

Labour costs and perks in an organization

The dissertation Labour costs and perks in an organization occupies with analysis of wages and labour costs, which nowadays forms an inseparable part of policy in each organization.The dissertation is divided into 2 main parts.The theoretical part is focused mainly on the theory of wages and labour costs. Then it defines employee benefits, their kinds , classification (or structure) and trends, the large part is devoted to the sytem of providing constituent employee benefits and follow up tax-deductibility of interest on the side of employees and employers.
The practical part is concerned with analysis of the present-day system of remuneration and providing benefits in a selected company. The great attention was paid to height of costs, which a selected company must spend on the provided benefits. The overall level
of satisfaction/unsatisfaction with provided benefits was investigated by means of questionnaire survey among employees in a selected company. The structure of up to now provided benefits was evaluated on the basis of information collected during the survey and created a dissertation conclusion. At the same time there was a proposal for integration of new kinds of benefits into the overall remuneration system.

Creation of methodical process of inventory of property and commitments in a selected non-profit organization

The diploma thesis follows up a process of inventary in a chosen accountant unit, its found insufficiencies and its consecutive solution. The process of inventary belongs to activities that lead to completion of a closing financial statement of an organization and that is why all the actions and processes must be done with carefulness and accuracy according to law number 563/1991 of law collection about accountancy, which states, according to law of the European union, extent and way of managing the accountancy and all requirements for its conclusivness and conditions for handing it over to a state.
The theoretical part of the thesis is related to defining basic terms of inventory process. The valid law regulations, which are dealing with those issues, are stated there. Individual phases of the whole process, important intern regulations and documents, which are obligatory for every single accountant unit, are also stated in the theoretical part of the thesis. A continuity of the inventory of property and commitments in financial statements and statements is being described there.
The practical part of the thesis involves the process of inventory in a chosen non-profitable accountant unit of the district court in Jičín. In the individual phases of the inventory, when the physical and documentary stock-takings are being done, are found insufficiencies and proposals of their solutions. A complete process of inventory belongs to activities of the chosen accountant unit, on which state´s controlling institutions are focusing in recent years, because the activities involve economy of the state´s essets. A methodic instruction for the processing of inventory of property and commitments for an accountant unit is worked out in the last chapter of the practical part.
By the compilization of the diploma thesis a complete view on an inventory as a whole was given, which is a starting point for completion of a financial statement. While working out the thesis, rocess or system insufficiencies were analysed. These insufficiencies might cause that the accountant unit will not fullfill the § 6 paragraph 3 of law of accountancy, from which the compulsatory duty of inventory of property and commitments according to provision § 29 and § 30 of law of accountancy flows. The audit office can, on the basis of those insufficiences, proclaim that the inventory of property and commitments was not done correctly and can apply a sanction on the accountant unit. After the inventory process the accountant unit is compulsory to make an inventory report that is a substantial document together with financial statements, balance-sheet, profit and loss sheet and attachments to the authorization of the financial statements.
