Harmonization of Maternity and Professional Life of High-Income Women in Prague

The master thesis called "Harmonization of maternity and professional life of high- income women in Prague" is focused on usage and evaluation of maternity leave promotion. The main research hypothesis is that women are more interested in promotion from the employee side (in flexible forms of work) than from the state side (finance). The author mainly considers theory of rational choice due to the author Gary S. Becker who explains changes in reproduction through this theory. As another theoretical perspectives are used relevant researches and Czech and foreign literature review. In order to fulfill the aim of the master thesis were analyzed qualitative half- structured interviews between women from a base population. The conclusion, based on this research is that women from the base population are more interested in promotion from the employee side (in flexible forms of work) than on the promotion from the state side (finance).

The analysis of movie characters of cyborg-woman from the perspective of the postmodern and post-theoretical approaches to the body and the identity constitution.

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the basic types of the film characters portraying artificial women: creatures who combine "femininity" (humanity) and technology, and who show female sexual characteristics or features that are stereotypically perceived as female-like (e.g. female cyborgs, female androids, female robots). The characters are analyzed and approached from the perspective of postmodern philosophy and post-theory studies; the forming of their body and identity is analyzed on the account of the narrative. The aim of the thesis is to explore whether the film representations of female cyborgs are similar to real cyborgs in the sense that they bring liberalization from the point if view of posthumanism and cyberfeminism, or whether they can only be perceived as the prime form of the Foucaltian body-as-machine, i.e. perfectly controllable precise technicist bodies which are created by the current power dispositions. The characters are divided into four categories, based on their predominant physical and "social" functions: a sexbot, a domesticated artificial woman, a destructive artificial woman and an emotional/intelligent artificial woman. The Representation of Mozambican Woman in Paulina Chiziane's Niketche

This study aims at an analysis of the novel Niketche: Uma história de Poligamia, by Paulina Chiziane, with respect to the position of Mozambican women. It captures the life of the protagonist Rami, who is confronted with several problems in today‛s Mozambique. Part of this bachelor‛s thesis work investigates the historical, cultural and social aspects of the Mozambican reality, and highlight their specificities and contrasts. Furthermore, this study examines three major topics: pluralism of Mozambican traditions, clash of Mozambican and Western culture and identity building process. Bachelor thesis focuses on the everyday life of one family from the early 19th century to the eighties of the 20th century. Its aim is to document and provide closer look at everyday life and family relationships in a peasant, artisan, clerical and merchant family in the region Kladno and assess what has been considered here typical or different. The thesis attempts to trace what has changed and what has persisted in the lives of the most families between the early 19th and mid-20th century. Bachelor thesis will focus on the effects of industrialization and urbanization, the First and the Second World War and the advent of the Communist regime. Women in the title role

The thesis deals with the analysis of the literary titles and literary female heroines, that entered into the title of a literary work. The theoretical part first discusses the concept of womanhood for two important philosophers - Gilles Lipovetsky in his work, The third wife[1] and Milan Machovec in the publication Philosophy in the face of the demise of[2] . The Centre of gravity of the theoretical basis regarding the literary theoretical categories - titles and literary characters, Josef Peterka textbooks represent the Theory of literature for teachers[3] , the rigorous work of Josef Lesak Poetics in contemporary Czech prose[4] and an extensive theoretical literary publication of Daniela Hodrová . ... on the edge of chaos[5] . The knowledge from the theoretical part is applied to the analytical part of the thesis, which discusses titles of the nine selected literary works and nine female heroines of Czech prose of the 2nd half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, who have been highlighted in the titles of these literary works. The Current Relationship Attachment in Women from Shelters for Mothers and Children

In the first, theoretical part, Attachment Theory is summarized: terms, patterns of attachment behavior of children, adults' mental representations of attachment, attachment developement, application of Attachment Theory into psychotherapy, as well as statistical contexts. Research work then involves qualitative analysis of attachment styles in current relationships of women from shelters for mothers and children in Czech Republic; here the Current Relationship Interview (CRI) method is applied. As a result, it gives 80 % insecure (60 % dismissing, 20 % preoccupied) and 20 % secure persons. This differs significantly from standard population, where 59 % persons are identified as secure. Qualitative analysis of 19 CRI scales gives some characteristic features of relationship of such a woman, e.g., remarkable lack of love and high conflict between her parents, lacking in love with partner, infrequent or inadequate caregiving and inability to seek or accept care from partner. Secure respondents differ from insecure ones by higher rate of loving and ability to provide care, but in the total evaluation they are on borderline of attachment insecurity. Daily Routine of Women/Mothers under the Normalization from the viewpoint of Child Education and Family Care

The present thesis deals with the media image of women's everyday life in the socialist era. It focuses on the period of time between 1970 and 1975, i.e. on the so called early normalization. The aim of the study is to find out in what way the everyday life of the given period is interpreted by the magazine Vlasta. The main value of the analysis is that it reveals the idealistic presentation of the socialist women's way of life, and their common problems and worries. The analysis of the articles we perform is focused on family and home care, child upbringing both at home and in institutions, man's role in the family, physical and mental health, cosmetics, fashion, etc., i.e. all the aspects belonging to and forming everyday life. Through these topics, which are popular among women, the magazine discreetly created the ideal of the socialist woman. In the messages concerned with everyday life it was passing on the values, stereotypes and even ideological principles of the socialist society of that time. The main aim of the analysis is to create a complex picture of this everyday practice in Vlasta magazine. Woman World in Attic and South Italian Vase- painting

Attributes, objects and divine beings, which together with the woman in the picture are occurring, are also monitored. Furthermore, this work describes myths that are recorded on the South Italian ceramics. In this thesis is also discussed the issue of connection between marriage and death in Greek society. Result of this work is to evaluate wedding themes in Attic and South Italian vases and to create a catalog of images with marriage motives.

Veiling of Czech women converting to Islam

This thesis deals with veiling of Czech women who convert to Islam, those who were born here, were brought up here and have a full Czech sociocultural background. The thesis focuses on the reasons for veiling in the Czech milieu, the real possibility of veiling in the Czech Republic, the emotional side of those women and the change in their visual appearance itself. It also discusses the changes in the acceptance of conversion to Islam in informants' families after they began to veil themselves. The thesis focuses on problems of the employment and the possibility of veiling being contraproductive in the western society. The whole thesis is based on a qualitative research and supported by the personal testimonies and life stories of eleven key informants and testimonies of secondary respondents. Their statements have been linked with theories that deals with veiling and clothing from different scientific perspectives and are compared with studies among female converts in other European countries, USA and Canada.
