This thesis contains of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes variety of causes of vertebral algic syndrome, basic information about epidemiology, etiology and time duration. Options of physiotherapy approaches which were used for patients chosen for this thesis are also described. Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Polytopic Vertebral Algic Syndrome of Cervical and Lumbar Spine Summary: The aim of this thesis is to summarize theoretical findings about issue of vertebral algic syndrome and on this basis, elaborate the case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of polytopic vertebral algic syndrome of cervical and lumbar spine. The topics of theoretical part of this thesis are anatomy and kinesiology of the spine, exact definition of this diagnosis including etiology and pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, possibilities of investigation and treatment. The application of combination therapy in the treatment of cervical and lumbar spine pain

This bachelor thesis deals with the effect of combination therapy (simultaneous application of electrotherapy and therapeutic ultrasound) in the treatment of vertebral algic syndrome in the cervical spine and lower back with a significant functional component (trigger points) without radicular symptoms. Furthermore, the effect of the treatment is compared with the effectiveness of transcutaneous electroneurostimulation. The theoretical part of this bachelor thesis is devoted to the description of the vertebral algic syndrome and the used treatment methods. The research part is focused on verifying the effects of combination therapy and transcutaneous electroneurostimulation, using each method in combination with individual therapeutic exercise. A total of twenty adult participants were included in the study, ten of whom were treated with combination therapy and ten were treated with transcutaneous electroneurostimulation. The effects of the therapies have been evaluated using selected pain questionnaire methods (visual analog scale, short form of the McGill Pain Questionnaire, Neck Disability Index, Oswestry Disability Index) and combination therapy intended for diagnostic purposes. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize theoretical and practical knowledge about the issue of polytopic vertebral algic syndrome. Methods: The theoretical part contains information about anatomy and kinesiology of the spine, some disorders in this area and possibilities of the therapy of vertebral algic syndrome. The second part is focused on the practical use of examination and therapeutic methods. Results: The patient's condition improved subjectively and objectively after the therapies. 1 Title of bachelor thesis: The incidence of vertebral problems, for doctors, nurses, caregivers and technicians, design of physiotherapy intervention a subjective approach to working with a physical therapist Abstract: Bachelor thesis devoted to the topic of vertebrogenic difficulties with health staff, specifically with the group of doctors, nurses, caregivers and laboratory technicians, and closer to exploring their subjective approach to the cooperation with a physiotherapist. The theoretical part is focused on description of the anatomy and kinesiology of the axial body, also on biomechanics and disc plate. A separate chapter consists of the deep stabilization system and the next chapter focuses on the issue of vertebrogenic difficulties and their treatment. The first part of the practical part consists of research in the form of a questionnaire survey, which points to the frequency of occurrence of back pain in health personnel. Selected twelve of the respondents from each group of doctors, nurses, caregivers and laboratory technician. Compared are as individual respondents, or groups between themselves. Monika Tichá Title: Using methods of stretching lower extremities amongst patients with vertebrogenic algic syndrome Abstract: The subject of this work is to evaluate the effect of stretching lower extremities amongst patients with back pain. The theoretical part deals with different kinds of stretching, guidelines and new methods of stretching. I focused on the stretching of the fascial structures and influencing shortened muscles using yoga exercises. I summarized the effects of training on the lower extremities shortened muscles, pelvis, posture and back pain. Both patients were males and approximately the same age, both were suffering from back pain and had at least three muscles in lower extremities shortened. I applied stretching of myofascial structures using foam rolling method and then yoga stretching exercise with the first patient. With the second patient I used only yoga stretching exercise. The aim of the practical part of the thesis was to determine, if the effect of stretching combined with foam rolling in advance to affect myfascial structures is greater than using only yoga stretching exercise. The influence of the sensormotoric stimulation by using special tools and physiotherapeutic practices on the feet of patients with the recurrent vertebrogenic syndrome

Sensorimotor stimulation is closely linked to vertebral algic syndrome and is used for the treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The methodology consists of many exercises from which the most important are the elements in the vertical. Due to sensorimotor stimulation it comes to the incensement of afferents from the skin exteroreceptors and proprioreceptors, which are based on the muscles and joints. Therefore we can say that thanks to the sensorimotor stimulation, which is based at the bottom of the foot, we can prevent the formation of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system, thus we can positively influence the recurrent vertebral algic syndrome. The purpose of the theoretical part is to provide information on the effect of the sensorimotor stimulation on the vertebral algic syndrome, provide general information about the anatomy of the spine and legs, and at last provide information about the origin of the disease, methodics and physiotherapeutic procedures while treating the vertebral algic syndrome on the basis of sensorimotor stimulation. The specialized part consists of a qualitative research, which compiles by case studies of three people. An input and output kinesiology examination was performed to the patients. Also, there was taken medical history of the patients. The therapy lasted for four months. I met the patients two to three times a month individually, depending on their time. The therapy took place at the Rehabilitation and regeneration center in Borovany. The aim of the specialized part was to outline whether the sensorimotor stimulation and other physiotherapy practices have a positive effect on the pain in the spine and other vertebral algic syndrome. The supplements include photo documentations of patients at the beginning and at the end of the therapy and also examination of the bottom of the feet of patients at the beginning and at the end of the therapy as well. Vertebral algic syndrome is a very extensive topic and certainly could be described in more detail and would expand in other professional work. This topic is very interesting and wide for further research and therapy.

Physiotherapy at treatment of chronic pain

The title of my bachelor thesis is "Physiotherapy at Chronic Pain Treatment". In my thesis I have focused on chronic back pain. Ambulatory practice indicates the above by general diagnosis as vertebral algic syndrome (VAS). First part of my work consists of processing of theoretical basis related to the problem. Main sections focus on pain, function of the spine, vertebral algic syndrome, spine examination methods, physiotherapeutic procedures and prevention of VAS origination. The research part of my work includes two case reports with diagnosis of chronic vertebral algic syndrome. The objective of the theoretical part of the work was to focus from the physiotherapist's view on most common causes of chronic pain, namely vertebral etiology. This part is also aimed at analyzing basic causes of VAS, processing of current information for diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive procedures related to VAS. The objective of practical part of the work was to find out, based on the case reports, whether the physiotherapy relieves the patient from pain. In the practical part of the thesis I applied the method of qualitative research, case study. The research was carried out in Malvazinky Rehabilitation Center and in Medicentrum Chodov. The tested set consisted of two probands diganosed with chronic vertebral algic syndrome. The diagnoses were given by the doctor treating the probands. Results have been prepared in the form of case reports. Both monitored patients showed a relief from pain and rehabilitation objectives set in advance have been met. Providing that the patients shall practise self-therapy and pay attention to measures preventing origination of problems. The thesis may serve as a theoretical document for medical science students. For physiotherapists it may serve as an inspiration when preparing rehabilitation plans for chronic back pain treatment.
