Utilization of liquefied soils in the form of backfilling self-compacting grouts
Chlachula, Jakub ; Krejčí, Pavel (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the research of liquefied soils based on backfilling self compacting grouts. These grouts could be used as bedding for utility lines with lower cost and without unnecessary waste. The prerequisite is that the soil will be stabilized by a suitable stabilizing admixture, which should increase the strength of the composite. It will be necessary to liquefy this composite by using water and suitable liquefaction or plasticizers. As part of this thesis, currently known and used stabilizing admixture and plasticizers are also evaluated, same as the geological situation in the Czech Republic.
Plasticizers replacing lime in cement-lime mortars
Kajsrlík, Jan ; Bayer, Patrik (referee) ; Vyšvařil, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of replacing lime in lime-cement plaster mortars. Considering commercially sold products, it explores the ways of replacing lime qualities by organic materials. Their influence on density, beam test and compression strength are researched; absorption capacity, frost resistance, capillary absorption coefficient are also assessed. Finally the organic materials are compared with the qualities of the lime-cement mortar
Improvement of soils for pavement subgrade
Šefránková, Radka ; Pácha, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with improvement of unsuitable soils for pavement subgrade. The theoretical part describes technologies of modification and materials employed for improving soils in our country and abroad. The main target of the practical part is observing bearing capacity of unimproved and improved soils and comparing the results.
Study of Preparation and Properties of Historic Mortars
Majerová, Jana ; Lang,, Karel (referee) ; Fridrichová, Marcela (advisor)
The diploma thesis is concerned with study of preparation and properties of historic mortars. In theoretical part, there is summarized the historic progress of mortars and their material composition. The experimental part is focused on proposition of mortar mixes. The diploma thesis referring to actual research on Institute of Technology of Building Materials and Components, FCE VUT in Brno. The base mixe of historical mortar came from this research. In experiment, there is the base mixe of historical mortar modified with gypsum. In the first phase of the experimental part the basic technological and aplication properties are assessed. The second phase of the experimental part is focused on the course of hydration of the binder in different environments and subseqeunt determination of the phase composition by X-ray diffraction analysis. The aim of the thesis is to determine the optimal amount of gypsum and to optimize the recipe of historical mortar.
Development and Propertied of Historic Masonry Mortar
Lišovský, Martin ; Kulísek, Karel (referee) ; Fridrichová, Marcela (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with development and propertied of historic masonry mortar, especially lime mortars and their modifications using pozzolan. In the recipe developed in the experimental part, metakaolin is used for the modification. The technological and application properties of mortars made from these formulations are then compared with the commercial mortar SCHWENK TM 5, which is modified by the suevite trass.
Research on the Preparation of Masonry Mortars
Koláček, Tomáš ; Dvořák, Karel (referee) ; Gazdič, Dominik (advisor)
This thesis deals with development in the preparation of masonry mortars. The theoretical part focuses on basic knowledge of mortars, individual types of mortar, preparation methods and individual components from which the mortar is composed. The practical part deals with the proposed reference and modified mortar mixtures and compares their technological properties.
Development of Historical Universal Mortar with Blended Binder
Lišovský, Martin ; Wagner,, Štěpán (referee) ; Fridrichová, Marcela (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with development and properties of historic mortars, evolves and optimizes recipe of historicizing universal mortar with mixture binder, which have been evolves in previous phase. Binder system is based on lime hydrate and metakaolin and is modified with fast-pacing gypsum. Thesis follow up technological properties of mixtures of historicizing mortars and modifies them for current construction industry. It also follows effect of modification to phase composition of binder system and eventually rise of AFt phases.
Verification of different types of fly ash for production of artificial aggregate
Zahálka, Milan ; Donát, Pavel (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
Diploma thesis gives an overview of artificial lightweight aggregates based on fly ash. Fly ash such as the residues of coal burning is currently one of the most used secondary raw materials for new building materials for research papers. The results shows that the secondary energy products are not just fully substitute the primary component, but in many cases improves the final properties of building products. Wide complex of fly ashes not only from domestic sources was tested and it`s main properties important for it`s further application was determined. Laboratory production of artificial aggregates based on fly ash made by sintering and also by cold bonding and following manufacture of artificial fly ash aggregates in technological conditions are also solved. The thesis is simultaneously concentrate on review of the suitability of fly ash aggregates in lightweight concrete. It was found that the highest quality fly ash for the production of sintered fly ash aggregate is fly ash and FBC ash is the best for the production of cold bonded aggregates. It was also verified that both types of aggregates are applicable to lightweight concrete class LC 20/22. The vast majority of manufactured aggregates is suitable for the production of lightweight concrete class LC 30/33. It was demonstrated that the sintered fly ash aggregates can be also used for high strength lightweight concrete class LC 50/55. Tests have also verified that all tested fly ashes and products produced from them meet the requirements of legislation on environment.
Rehabilitation technology of embankment dams by using suitable types of waste
Michalčíková, Magdaléna ; Kulísek, Karel (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
The subject of this work is to find an optimal technology for repairing existing embankment dams with emphasis on simplicity and ecological scalability. Next, secondary energy and waste materials will be evaluated as a partial replacement of a quality montmorillonitic clay. The aim of this will be to maximize the use of these waste materials. In the end a selection of materials for the locality will be made. The use of appropriate types of waste for repairs of embankment dams with clay based grouting compound technology has a great potential, especially with those dams that are not fulfilling their function due to their age.
Development of different types of fly ash autoclaved aerated concrete
Bednárik, Vít ; Kulísek,, Karel (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the current technologies of production and raw materials used in the production of fly ash autoclaved aerated concrete. The choice of suitable materials is an important prerequisite for achieving the desired properties of the finished product. Fly ash autoclaved aerated concrete has become one of the options, how to use fly ash, produced as a secondary raw material in the combustion of coal in heating power plants. This work deals with the comparison the physico - chemical properties of the fly ash in the Czech Republic and the subsequent optimization of the composition of the raw mix for the production of fly ash autoclaved aerated concrete with the maximum use of alternative raw materials.
