Typography of web design

Typography is one of the most important elements of web design and marketing. Good typography makes web design more appealing, which is important for readers in evaluating titles and the quality of text. The aim of this thesis is to provide a characterization of good and bad typography. I will use this characterization to identify modern typographical trends in a digital background. In the theoretical part, I will describe the basic features of typography. In the practical part, I will distinguish appealing typography and visual smog, and find specific examples demonstrating typographical trends in web design.

PhDr. Martin Raudenský, Ph.D. Abstrakt: This thesis deals with the creation of graphical worksheet (author of the book) in the form of illustrations associated with the text that will serve as an educational tool in institutions such as art galleries and museums with similar functionality as the gallery animation. Books (worksheet) are designed for production intended for children, with the parents, adolescents, or even random visitors. I created a variant of the worksheet has drafted according to the age of the users. Author book (worksheet) applies to a gallery and exhibition occurring in it. Work packages are factually created in two variants - package for a family with children or a group of younger pupils in colored graphic design and enhanced content for creating things. A simplified package for older visitors gallery, only with a pencil, which is even less economically demanding. History and quality of the Most Beautiful Czech Book Contest from the point of view of evaluation committee and responses of period press

in English: This bachelor thesis deals with the Most Beautiful Czech Book Contest press evaluations between 1966 and 1990, also regarding the overall quality of Czechoslovak book design, typography and polygraphy. Summarization of the historical development is carried out by analyzing contemporary specialized and nonspecialized periodicals. The work is divided into theoretical and historical context of the issue, the analysis itself and a brief biographical introduction to Oldřich Hlavsa, Milan Hegar and Jiří Rathouský, the three masters of Czechoslovak book design and typography.
Corporate design of Maja Sport ski school

Title of study: Corporate design of Maja Sport ski school Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to design a new corporate design for the ski school Maja Sport with a proposal for its implementation. Partial aims to achieve main objective are analysis of corporate design of major competitors and analysis of the current state of corporate design ski school Maja Sport. Methods: To achieve the set goals have been used several methods. Analyses of corporate design are based primarily on methods of observation and analysis of documents. Creating a draft of new design is based on collective brainstorming and informal talks with the owner and manager of the ski school. Results: The thesis found significant weaknesses in the current corporate design ski schools Maja Sport. Compared with the competition, its design is highly fragmented and looks unprofessional. For this reason, the thesis designed completely new corporate design. The practical outcome of this work is a proposal for implementation and design manual with rules and examples of use of the proposed new company design. Relation between verbal and nonverbal communication in advertisement

This Bachelor's thesis is focused on the relations between verbal and nonverbal communication in advertising. The first part describes a theoretical basis applying to advertising in general, target group and model of effecting recipients by advertising. Attention is drawn to particular parts of heterogeneous communication, which are verbal part (word) and nonverbal part (mainly picture and colour). The second (practical) part contains analysis of eight magazine advertisements belonging to two categories - car advertisements and bank advertisements. The thesis Magazine Raut, why is life of graphically exceptional magazines not a bed of roses? describes in detail the magazine which was published at the beginning of the 1990s. It gives a detailed description of different elements of extraordinary layout of the magazine Raut. Its uniqueness comes not only from an unusual format of magazine but also from generous work with images and typography which broke the usual rules for magazine production. Unusualness of the magazine Raut also concern the focus of the magazine which overlaps toward national undertone. For a deeper understanding for the magazine Raut is necessary to put the magazine into a context of the 1990s that was crucial for its formation. Due to the exclusivity of the magazine Raut the press responded to it in different ways Czech and foreign and the thesis compiles media image of the magazine Raut. The thesis also includes an interview with Managing Editor and Art Director of the magazine Raut Ales Najbrt. Only five issues of the magazine Raut were published and its demise was due to several factors. The conclusion of the thesis is based on those factors and the conclusion can be generalized to apply to any other form of magazines with exceptional or unusual graphic design.

The thesis focuses on problem of authorship of the Internet content. It considers the question whether we can analyze the artwork purely as a closed structure of the symbols or whether it is necessary to take work as a broader structure. The first part of the thesis shows the Internet in general and its specifics it as a medium. The second part is devoted to the problem of authorship. It explains traditional view of Nelson Goodman, who examined the authenticity of artwork with regard to the internal arrangement of the elements structure of the object. The third part shows the later theories inconsistent with the views of Nelson Goodman, views of different contemporary authors who present the changes of authorship aspects in the environment which is under constant development, quickly sharing ideas and resources. New theories suggest to look beyond the authorship of the artwork domain, apply broader focous. The conclusion provides a synthesis of these views.
