These groups are used to for sharing offers and proposals concerning carpooling in the Czech Republic. The main goal of the thesis is the spatial analysis of carpooling in the Czech Republic. It describes the history of carpooling, its forms and its types. In the analytical part, the thesis examines data about carpooling in the observed groups according to specified parameters such as number of members, number of posts per month, distance and other. Futhermore, the analytical part of the thesis deals with spatiotemporal variability and concentration of posts in carpooling groups. The results of the thesis revealed that the largest groups and the most members are associated with the largest cities in the Czech Republic, especially Prague. The largest concentratration of offers and proposals for carpooling was found on the routes between these cities. The evaluation of spatiotemporal variability and concentration of posts determined that greatest concentration and the highest numbers of posts were in the morning and evening hours in days Monday, Friday and Sunday.

1 The concept of carpooling, its development and recent comprehension in judicial practice Abstract This thesis focuses on the concept of carpooling, its development and understanding of this concept in commonly spoken and legal language, including the current view of the Czech and European courts. A significant part of the work addresses the legal classification of carpooling. The first part describes the development of carpooling from its inception to the present. In the recent years, carpooling was often associated with the development of modern technology which caused confusion about the exact content of the concept of carpooling. In the second part I analyse carpooling from a linguistic viewpoint, both in terms of commonly used language and from a legal point of view. This also answers the question of whether the content of the concept "carpooling" has possibly changed over time. The third chapter looks at the relationship between carpooling and commercial activity. I try to find out whether any form of carpooling may also have commercial features. I also aim to establish whether there is a certain limit to when an activity can still be considered as carpooling. The fourth chapter discusses the most important case laws in the Czech and European context which deal with the solution of unfair competitive...

Carpooling in the light of private and public law Abstract The thesis deals with legal aspects of carpooling across the spectrum of the law of the Czech Republic. Due to carpooling not being a legal term, the thesis itself defines it as a phenomenon when multiple people are traveling simultaneously by one road transport vehicle, under the assumption that the transport is not being provided on a commercial basis. The thesis also describes the differences between carpooling and commercial transport of persons. As far as public law is concerned, the thesis discovers which areas of administrative law apply to carpooling and what consequences arise for the subjects concerned. This involves the regulation of road transport and road traffic in particular. The description of tax implications is also included. Furthermore, the thesis deals with criminal and administrative liability. The focus, however, is on private law. After an exploration of the legal history of transport of persons, the thesis answers the question whether or not contractual obligations arise from carpooling and inspects the elements of the contract along with the rights and duties of the parties. International aspects are taken into account - the thesis studies direct legal norms as well as rules governing conflicting laws. The centrepiece of...

This topic has been mentioned in Czechia only marginally and has not been further researched. The thesis aims to get a closer look on carpooling and to cover it as a self-standing complex topic. Main aim is to define the term of carpooling, determine its types and in author's own questionnaire to identify basic principles which are specific for student's carpooling between Prague and the town of Písek. Outcomes of the questionnaire are discussed with literature. It is possible to divide carpooling into internal and external. Furthermore, it can be divided into formal and informal carpooling. The determining factor for a working carpool journey is motivation of participants which forms the carpool-journey's characteristics. Among others it is mainly saving money, saving time and comfort. Main barrier for carpooling is sharing a car with an unknown person. The thesis is an entrance gate into the topic of carpooling and there are a lot of further research possibilities.
