Social aspects of long-term unemployment in the region České Budějovice
MALENICKÁ, Soňa
Bachelor thesis deals with the situation of long-term employed in Czech Budweis and is divided into two parts. The thesis consists of a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part, I define work, unemployment, types of unemployment, employment policy and the impact of work on people. At the end of the theoretical part, the region of Czech Budweis, which is part of the unemployment in the empirical part of the bachelor thesis, is specified. In the practical part, I analyze the results of the research. Qualitative research with a semi-structured interview technique was used to achieve them. The sample comprised six respondents. Their responses were recorded and then processed. The aim of the thesis was to assess the situation of long-term unemployed in Czech Budweis and to find possible solutions to long-term unemployment. It was therefore necessary to answer the following questions. The first one focuses on whether a long-term unemployed person feels a life-threatening threat. The second question examines whether the long-term unemployed think that their work skills in society are insufficiently valued. From the research results, I can say that the long-term unemployed have a feeling of existence threat and their employability is not considered sufficiently valued by the employer. Individuals may even suffer from psychological problems for various reasons, but primarily because of financial instability and an uncertain future. If a person does not have sufficient experience or education, he is often rejected by the employer. Additional information has also been found that long-term unemployed people are losing some momentum in their day's duties, and in some cases, there are undesirable phenomena, such as unproductive spending of leisure time.
