Information System Proposal

Because of a growing number of services offered by the Masaryk University to its students, and because of the ever-changing legislation of the Czech Republic, a need for an implementation of a new information system, capable of processing payments for university’s services, has arisen. The goal of this thesis is to analyse the current condition of payments at the university, consider users’ demands, choose an appropriate information system and project its implementation. It is utterly necessary to keep the costs of implementation at acceptable levels and above all the system must be able to be operated without the need for new employees. The proposed system must be universal because of various natures of services offered and goods sold, as well as it must be efficient. It is required that the system will be able to handle the growth of both number of clients and provided services.

International Legal Issues Related to the Status of the State of Israel Abstract The emergence and continued existence of the State of Israel, which is completely surrounded by Arab neighbors, may be one of the main causes of the current conflict that began in this part of the region more than seventy years ago. At the same time, the creation of the State of Israel constitutes a certain exception to international law because it was linked to a non-legally binding resolution of a body of an international organization of a universal nature, in particular to the UN General Assembly Resolution 181 (II) of 1947. This resolution foresaw the establishment of both a Jewish and an Arab state in part of the territory of the former Ottoman Empire, which was then administered by Great Britain as a mandate territory. While the state of Israel declared its independence on 14 May 1948, the Arab people of the mandate rejected this resolution, and their right to self-determination was not pursued until many decades later. In relation to this, and as a result of several armed conflicts between the State of Israel and the surrounding Arab states, there has also been a controversial situation with regard to parts of the territory of the former Mandate of Palestine that is at the same time not the territory of the State of...
Changes of settlement structures of Hořovice region in middle ages

The aim of the bachelor work is a basic settlement-historic settlement pattern characteristic of changes Horovitz region from 6th to 15th century. Emphasis is placed on archaeological receivable transformation of rural settlements and the network of central sites. The starting point is the evaluation of surface collections, detector and geophysical survey and archaeological excavations of a medieval settlement on the land village Suchomasty (district Beroun), which took place 2010. Besides the analysis of the transformation of the residential complex work provides a basic idea of the development of ceramic production in this unprospect region. Knowledge of the wider context of settlement is based on a search of existing archaeological activities and analytical surface collections in selected areas in which students were involved ÚPA FF UK. Reviews of written sources is partly based on the upcoming work by dr. D. Kalhous. Findings of the study are compared with the existing concept of transformation of rural settlements in the Czech Kingdom. The present BA thesis examines the terrain relicts in the area of Humenská (the cadastral area Jíloviště). The concerned relicts were identified as road relicts. Results of a geodetic survey of the relicts were connected with research of the historical settlement in the area of the village Jíloviště. The relicts were identified as material remnants of the so-called Bechyně road mentioned by the chronicler Kosmas. One part of the thesis treats old roads, including a more detailed discussion of the issue of localizing the Bechyně road.
Forming and development of towns in Romain Britain in 2. and 3. century

This work deals with the Roman civilian settlements which began to emerge in the province of Britannia following its establishment in mid-first century. In the introduction the work describes the characteristic features of these settlements and their functions. The first chapter gives an overview of the different types of towns and their administrative establishment. In following chapters, the work deals with the town defences, private and public buildings and amenities, including religious buildings which were part of the towns. The work describes their type, design and development in general and also examples of these structures in most important locations.
The Burial Rite of Knoviz Culture in Bohemia

The purpose of this thesis is to analyse in detail the burial rite of Knovíz Culture in Bohemia. The thesis focuses on religion, uniformisation of the burial rite, tumuli and flat graves, grave goods and burial rites. Special attention is paid to finds of human skeletons or body parts in settlements. Certain criteria are followed and compared in the prepared database of sites with the occurrence of human skeletons or their parts.

Impacts of Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip on the development of Israeli-Palestinian relations

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the impact of the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. This work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The first part deals with selected issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by 2005, such as historical landmarks, especially the first Israeli-Arab war and the Six Day War, the international legal status of Gaza, on which a consensus did not exist and policy of the Jewish settlements. The practical part is specifically dedicated to the process of withdrawal and its impact on Israeli-Palestinian relations, especially on the economic situation and the lives of Palestinians in Gaza. Important attention is paid to the current situation of bilateral relations and the future of the Gaza Strip. The work is supplemented by pictorial documentation, selected UN resolutions and statistical data.
Typology of Urban Tissues Identified in Slovak Cities

The research project 1995 – 1996 was granted by RSS - Research Support Scheme, HESP - Higher Education Support Programme grant RS/HESP/1074/693/1995. A typology of "urban tissues" was developped. The "urban tissues", are middle-sized parts of the city, homogenous in their main quantitative characteristics - i.e. intensity of land use (COS, CES) and built-form height, defined in average number of stories (ANS, VyHL). The typologies were edevelopped fot both the collection of Slovak urban tissues identified by Faculty of Architecture in Bratislava research, and for a collection of Western Europe urban tissues.

Analýza současného stavu (1992) v obcích Ostrovačice, Chorušice, Lužec nad Vltavou, Vysoká a Želiv. U každé obce jsou uvedeny širší vztahy, demografická situace, jeho vývoj a charakter současného stavu, stav zeleně, funkční členění území, dopravní situace a technická vybavenost. Analýza je podkladem pro návrhy změn.
