Software Architecture Comparison

The goal of this thesis is to compare software architectures to help the reader decide which architecture is the most suitable for their project. The thesis compares the Onion architecture, Anemic domain model architecture and Active record architecture. The architectures are compared based on their readability, extensibility, testability and the amount of knowledge neccesary to implement each architecture. It also offers the description of other well-known software architectures and the concepts which they use.

Business report of 13th International Digital Curation Conference

The business report describes the course of participation in the 13th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) dedicated to data and data management plans. Participation in the conference was key to plans to build a new repository. The international trip brought a first insight into the issues and new trends at the international level. At the same time, it has made it possible to establish contacts between experts in the field who already manage their repositories. The findings and texts of the papers can be used as a basis for consideration of the possibilities of NTK in the field of research data and data stewardship, and they are also an inspiration for the next year of the international Conference on grey literature and repositories under the auspices of NTK.

Information support in the area of software simulators in medical education

(english) The subject of this thesis is the analysis of the development and use of medical simulators in terms of information support, basic description and introduction to the issue of medical training simulators themselves. The introduction describes the simulators since the beginning of the historical development to the current use. Subsequently, the work deals with manikin for patient simulators, the essential components, required for proper functioning, which are mathematical models on the background of the simulators. The chapter on repositories, describes the problems of model documentation and archiving of articles which describes the models. There are described reference managers for managing the literature and made a basic comparison of their features. The thesis focuses on a selected reference manager - Docear, which is described and used in the practical part. It deals with the organization of the scientific literature of Biomedical simulators in the Department of Biocybernetics and Computer Aided Teaching at the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University. Analytical tool for information extraction from version control systems

This thesis discusses the extraction of information from version control systems. Its goal is to describe the implementation of a software application that facilitates this type of extraction, focusing on the version control system Git. The theoretical part of the thesis identifies and analyses data stored in repositories. It also evaluates the tools available on the market using specific criteria. The practical part specifies development requirements, describes the resulting software application, and contains a how-to manual for extending the application and implementing one's own metrics that lead to gaining information. The application is developed in the CoffeeScript programming language and Node.js engine. It contains several example metrics. The output is a graphical user interface with interactive graphs served by a built-in HTTP server. Another output option is a machine-readable export to a file.

Open Repositories 2012

Náplní služební cesty byla účast na mezinárodní konferenci Open Repositories 2012, která se ve dnech 9. – 13. července konala na University of Edinburgh ve Skotsku. Konference byla rozdělena do 3 částí – první zahrnovala workshopy, druhá se skládala z několika paralelních bloků přednášek a závěr konference byl věnován přednáškám děleným dle softwaru užívaného pro budování repozitářů (DSpace, Fedora, EPrints). Podnázvem letošního ročníku bylo Open Services for Open Repositories, díky čemuž byla většina přednášek věnována ukázkám služeb podporujících myšlenky otevřeného přístupu, a to nejen k publikacím, ale také vědeckým datům a ukázkám služeb zaměřených na obohacování či rozšiřování uloženého obsahu. Konference byla zároveň spojena s Repository Fringe, festivalem, který každý rok Edinburghská univerzita pořádá pro správce repozitářů.
